MONTESANO, Wash. (AP) -- Authorities believe a Washington man was killed by accidentally urinating on a downed power line after a car crash.
Grays Harbor County sheriff's Deputy Dave Pimentel (PIM'-en-tel) said Monday 50-year-old Roy Messenger was not seriously hurt after he collided with a power pole Friday and called a relative to pull his car from a ditch.
However, family members found Messenger electrocuted when they arrived.
Pimentel says Messenger apparently urinated into a roadside ditch but didn't see the live wire. The urine stream likely served as a conductor, allowing the electricity to reach his body.
Pimentel says there will be an autopsy but burn marks indicated the way the electricity traveled through Messenger's body.
This accident was certainly unfortunate. But I think he could've been a bit more attentive, considering he not only hit the power pole in the first place, but also didn't survey the scene very well.
-snip snap patty wack give a dog a bone-
Didnt they prove something like this false on mythbusters?
I pictured this in my head.
His relatives must be pissed.
What shocking news.
He must have been pissed off when he hit that pole
sounds like something off of 1000 ways to die

Do it. You'll find out for yourself.
Have a friend or if you have no friends a paid homeless guy film it with instructions on posting it online.

Yes because cable shows are always accurate and factual. Didn't they prove on another show that tons of building are haunted by ghosts which always seem be blurry or out of focus?

Mythbusters is so cool though, how can you think they lie?

They proved its possible as long as the stream is solid, however with the amount of electricity coming from a power line would be more than enough to arc over drops.
That's rather shocking.
Whoopzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

I did this with a water gun onto a low low low power fence that keeps my friends dogs off the garden.
Lets just say I won't ever touch electric stuff again

They tested if pissing on the third rail on a train line can cause electric shocks. This is much lower than an electric fence so the urine stream has a chance to break into droplets. Therefore you don't get a shock. However, an electric fence is much closer, so yes, most of the time you will get electrocuted.

Step back from the computer RIGHT NOW.
What? electrocuted?

I have peed on an electric fence, my body went into shock and I fell backwards. You don't die. A power line on the other hand is another thing.
I don't know what the hell you guys are talking about.
I bet he had a bang of a time.

Also lol Mythbusters.
In the forum description all you can see is "man killed by accidentally..."
I was wondering if this was going to end in "raping someone," after that interesting story about the old lady.
mythbusters have been getting less thorough with time, looking less at other possibilities and very often takes a grand shit at the circumstances described and just makes some new up. we can't trust what they say at all. but their show is awesome.
that's my conclusion anyway.

God dammit, why does everyone Whiz on the Electric Fence?

That was the third rail proof, they only proved that it didn't work unless you're too close to it, basically it only works if a continuous stream of piss is made, otherwise it won't conduct.
:science:
