Hey guys, i'm interested in building a home machine and wondering what the price range would be with these specs. This rig is not meant for gaming, does NOT not require a graphics card, and is purely meant to be hooked up to a home network with a few internal hard drives for storage on a network so that anyone in the house can use this hard drive. When I did the price it was (~600) plus tax is (~690) I live in Canada, Canadian stores and prices please Specs: Some low end mid tower that can fit 3 HDD's $25 CD/DVD drive i3-2100 4gb ddr3 1333mhz RAM 3 1TB HDD's Some Socket 1155 mobo, idc, it just needs to be able to have 3 hard drives attatched, And a power supply, idk what i'd need for this, not much im thinking, 400w? No screen, no mouse, no OS This is just like a price quote, thanks
Do you have those harddrives already?
Here you go, it will hold more than 3 HDD's and is perfect for home use and you can up it to an i5 2500k if you want to spend the cash.
Quite a waste, h61 motherboards support 4 SATA drives already. If you're certain that you wont need such and upgrade, then you can cut down the motherboard cost in half, and you should also either invest in a better case for 10-20~ dollars more, or just get a cheaper one (not that the antec300 is a great value case anyhow) and save that extra unnecessary spending.
Do you have those harddrives already?
No That build above looks pretty good, but i'm also wondering, Do I really even need an i3 if this is just for storage?

Also any cheaper case will do such as this. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811233064
If this is just a file server that is extremely overkill Even an atom board with a PCI sata card will be more than enough.
