Not going to go into to much detail here but basically I just would like to know what is the best way to safely Transport RAM and a GPU to someone else's house basically? Paper bag? Bubble wrap? Foil? Just the best way to transport them to keep them safe from Static
Antistatic bag
Antistatic bag
Sadly I do not have an antistatic bag But do you know of any good alternatives?
Whenever I transport my PC anywhere I put it inside 2 black bin liner bags. For components I usually use the boxes/antistatic bags they came with. I suppose you could wrap them in normal or even sandwich bags, but try to have some hole or opening so that air can flow inside the bag. Bubble wrap is also good as long as you give them lots of padding.
That's about the dumbest thing you can do. I've used sandwich and grocery bags to transport all sorts of bare electronics for 15+ years and have yet to have anything damaged by static. Antistatic bags are usually hard to come by, especially in the right size. Static is grossly overrated.
There's more risk from mechanical damage than static, just stick them in what ever you find as long as they're secure.
$5, and you can re use them. I have put my gtx670 on the passenger seat numerous times no problems You could probably use anything relatively soft if you really wanted to and safe some monies.

Since the average user won't take precautions against such discharges there is a chance a discharge might happen. I don't say it will happen but that it could. Better safe than sorry.
