Hello all
Well, just made a dealwith my parents. They said theyll get me any alirnware laptop of my choosing, and I only have to pay $800 for it--which means I can get the m15x or the m17x. Only problem is, the sandy bridge intel processors are coming out, but not yet integrated in alienware. I need to make a decision before April. So should I buy it now, or later? Or can I buy it now, and put the sandy bridge in it? Thanks ya'll.

And if I were to get one noe, what spec options should I choose?

Sorry for spelling/grammatical errors, damn iPod :(
Nooooo!
Don't get alienware, it's really bad.
If you have to get a laptop (desktops are much better) don't go for overpriced alienware.
Don't buy Alienware.
Now? Later? How about never. Don't go Alienware, Even their laptops.
Post the specs of this laptop. You people keep assuming Alienware laptops suck, when they don't really. Only their desktops.
If the specs are bad, then I suggest you buy a Sager NP5160 on XoticPC.com
Their specs is always shit for the price
Dont

I don't even see an M17x on their website - only the M11 and the M15
anyways if that means getting an i7 extreme, a GTX 460 and a 256GB SSD for $800 then go ahead, you won't be able to find anything with those specs for that price
[editline]wef[/editline]
oh yeah make sure you get warranty with that

Post the fucking specs. I'm not sure whether you're an illiterate or not.
And you guys need to stop hopping on the Alienware sucks bandwagon. Overpriced? Definitely.
But one thing:
-Good cooling
-Good build quality (on M17x and M15x)
-Good cooling
-Good build quality (on M17x and M15x)
nope
they can't even make a decent hinge
Bad alien ware, I hate to say it but you're paying for a case that looks like an alie, low quality parts, and your core will literally melt.
Same goes with the laptop, bad cooling , bad parts, you're paying for lights that change colors! whoa!
You can make a way better build for 800$ .
nope
they can't even make a decent hinge
My hinge on my M11x is all floppy. But it's still great, that's the only thing ever gone wrong. They are offering free repairs for the hinge problem anyways.
Some kid brought the M17x into my class at my IT trade school.
He was trying to tell me there was literally a full size 5870 inside his laptop....
To me, the owning of an Alienware is a sign of illiteracy. Even if I got one for free, I would sell it.
They're total garbage to use too.
nope
they can't even make a decent hinge
And that is on the M11x.
Really, just post the specs of the Alienware. It'll have to beat this:
-i7-2630QM
-GT 540M
-4GB RAM
Don't buy Alienware, period.
It's not just $800 if it's your parents paying for it... don't get alienware anyway. MSI have some insanely good and cheap gaming laptops. Go for them, they're a fairly well known brand and I'm sure your parents are willing to save some money.
Srsly why alienware is that bad?
(I'm not an alienware user)
Srsly why alienware is that bad?

-Incredibly overpriced
-Cheap components that fails easily and crap customer support
-Shitty cases and designs that looks incredibly ugly
