What is the demand for this?
Honestly I don't like Lego's approach the past few years. They have such a hard on for licensed themes, which goes against Lego's philosophy in my honest opinion. Most of these sets have proprietary and unique pieces that pretty much just go with that set, which makes it hard build it another way. Their current idea seems to be "build the set according to the instructions and be done with it"
Honestly expected this to be a rumor about a Lego Simpsons game.

Return of Lego Technics please.
i would just buy sets for the pieces and then build it to see what it looked like. i'd then just rip it apart and make better shit with my new stuff.

I followed the instructions and left it that way
Am I a bad person

Lego has definitely declined in quality. All the sets use like a bazillion specialty peices, and in most cases the sets are pretty sucky. Lego star wars sets, fucking toy story sets, harry potter sets, it just feels eh now. I'd probably have more fun building something out of the giant fucking box of lego I have than going out and spending 50 bucks on a new set.
For those of you complaining about not being able to put the pieces together in different ways

and

If you've got enough creativity and imagination you can put those specialty parts together in magical ways.
I was rather ashamed that Lego attempted 'Hero Factory'. Its simply a shadow of Bionicles, don't get me wrong Bionicles were fantastic and typically always creative with their design in virtually every iteration..
But Hero Factory is rather cookie cutter
wheres my lego island 3
Return of Lego Technics please.
Technic's still around and still awesome, unfortunately normally toy stores only have 1 or 2 Technic sets, while The Hobbit, Star Wars and City take up the entire rest of the aisle :(
You guys are too nostalgic. Lego is still great.
Well they both have yellow skin.
You guys are too nostalgic. Lego is still great.
Not saying Lego isnt great, the quality of the sets has gone down.
Technic is still amazing though.
I personally can't wait for the Back to the Future DeLorean set that got approved by the guys at Cuusoo.
Return of Lego Technics please.
they didn't leave?

As a Lego collector I'd say the quality has improved dramatically. I have a few sets that were redesigned after ~10 years, and the more recent sets are definitely much much much nicer. Even the individual Lego pieces have better production quality.

And I give thee: Bricklink. http://www.bricklink.com/ (Known as Cracklink by some users due to it's addictive properties!)

Lego has always been priced similarly to how it is now. Of course the licensed products have some additional costs, but that's to be expected.
Here's a $50 set from 1999: http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/4980_Tunnel_Transport
It has 349 pieces, and looks fairly weak and bland, in my opinion. (I have a few of the other Rock Raiders sets, and they're structurally weak as well)
Compare to this $50 set from 2013: http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/70708_Hive_Crawler
It's 560 pieces gives it tons more detail

Yeah that's why I've never been able to afford lots of Lego. :v:
It's a shame this isn't about a game, I'd buy a Lego Simpsons game if it was as quality as all of the other Lego games.

But the thing is, Rock Raiders are/were a shit load better a lot of the new crap today
But the thing is, Rock Raiders are/were a shit load better a lot of the new crap today
That's your opinion, so I won't argue with you on that, but glance through these to make sure you're not looking through nostalgia glasses http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/Rock_Raiders#Sets
And I wasn't calling rock raiders bad, just picking examples for price tag
Return of Lego Technics please.
I haven't bought a single Lego set in nearly ten years, and if they did this I would buy everything. As long as it isn't $15 for a small set. That shit pissed me off.

There's no way they were always that expensive, because I have a crap load of them, and I don't think my parents would have bought me them if they cost that much.

They did
And your n64 games were $60-$80
Thank your parents now
I've noticed that you can't just get a big box of LEGO with a book of "here's the shit we've made so you can replicate that or get inspired" anymore it's all sets and stuff.
