What would be a good program for playing music?
No itunes or WMP please, I know about them already.
I need something that can manage a lot of music, categories it by albums and so on. Also must be able to play flac.
Zune?

Oh wait does it play flac?
Try Songbird.
I think it can play flac.
Winamp is pretty good IMO. And plays FLAC.

For some reason it uses 50-100mb of ram. Kinda too much I think.

Last time(it was pretty long time) it didn't have good music management.

Google doesn't find anything.
Someone is picky.
I don't think the application you are looking for exist.
songbird is nice and will have video support soon and has a built-in web browser.
or foobar2k is nice too. google harder. http://www.foobar2000.org/ first thing that came up.

Like I said, IMO. My idea of good music management is playlists (which I hardly ever use), sort by Song, Album and Artist, and a basic search bar. I don't really need much more than that.

this. playlists are stupid imo.
oh also a shuffle/random button is good to have.
My dad uses Media Monkey and it does look pretty nice but its not free. It also plays flac, thats the only reason my dad uses it :D

Oh yeah, the shuffle button. That's my favorite feature of most music players. The only time I ever turn it off if an album has tracks that are gapless, like in Pink Floyd's The Wall.
Foobar is great. It's using only 3mb of ram.
