Now the question is if Sony will actually do something with it. A new registration almost a year after the trademark’s expiration seems to indicate a positive answer, but there’s no way to be sure for now.[/quote] If Sony releases Dark Cloud 3 on PS4 that would be reason enough to buy it or maybe its an HD collection of 1+2 like the recent Final Fantasy release.
Even though I haven't had a new console since the PS2, I kind of hope it is a sign of something. I've only played the original, but it was alright. Was yet another time I played something with Roguelike mechanics(weapons, with the exception of each characters starting weapon, can break for good and you mostly procure them on site, though there are a few weapon shops, rather than hunger you have to manage thirst) and didn't know it.
The first Dark Cloud is among my favourite games, hopefully if this is a new one, they stay closer to that than the second.
I have been so reminiscent of this game the past month. Then this happens. Dark Cloud 2 was a huge part of my childhood. I love it to death. Such a good game.
A HD version of both Dark Clouds would be a instant buy from me, I can realize the music of Palm Brinks very easily if I heard it. Never had the chance to play the first one, aside from the demo that came with the PS2. And dispite now owning the first one in my PS2 collection, I never had the chance to play it yet. If this means Level 5 is coming back to the Dark Cloud series with a third one after spending so much time on the Layton and White Knight Chronicles (Which where pretty good if I'm honest), it might be a reason to spend some cash getting my hands on a PS4. Oh yeah, fuck mimics, they used to scare the living daylights out of me when I was young...
Shenmue and others had trademarks registered as well, pretty sure it's just protecting the brand and all that. Edit: If they release some HD collection they need to at least update the first game though, the controls in that were pretty bad :v:. I wanna finally see the ending to, I got to the final boss and could never win ever.
