Would you be able to use the Polk Audio monitor 30's (L/R channel) and a Polk Audio CS1 (center channel) with the Logitech Z5500? The Monitor 30's are 20-100watts and the CS1 is 20-125watts and the Z5500 is 62-69watts per channel so that should work but there may be some other issue.
I realize that in a surround sound setting it would be better to have all the same speakers but most of the time I just listen to music so that won't really matter. A guy is selling 2 monitor 30's and the CS1 for $120 total which is a good deal so I would like to know if this would work or not.
Example:
Center: Polk Audio CS1
Front L/R: Monitor 30's
Rear L/R: Logitech
why not just use all of the z5500?
monitor speakers are shit
and the polks will be annoying as piss having to do slight adjustments on both volume knobs
get the screens if you want but to be honest i'd sell the rest on
I'm actually thinking about buying a Z-5500, how is it? I currently have the X-540
I am using all of the Z5500 and it is amazing. It really shines when you hook it up via optical cable. So why do I want to try to upgrade? Well I wasn't planning to, this was an unplanned opportunity so I was wondering if it is a good move or if you can even power them using the Z5500 system.

The Z-5500 is very loud, has a strong bass, built in receiver, and sounds fantastic. It's a great buy if you plan on using them for a long time.
Lucky me that my soundcard has optical out then.. Time to save my paychecks!
