So I have been looking and it seems that the 7870 XT is right now the best bang for your buck card, but I was wondering, would I be better off spending like $40 more for the 7950, $60 for the 670, or just sticking with the 7870 XT. Also, I am playing at 1080p and planning to play games such as BF3, Borderlands 2, Skyrim (with multiple mods), and when they come out, Crysis 3 and Bioshock Inf.
Well at 1080p I would say the 7870 XT will probably be fine. My 7950 seems to have been fine with anything I've thrown at it at 1440p, but I still think I'd have been ok with an XT.
You sure love making loads of threads here. AnandTech says the 7970 comes out on top in pure benchmarks. I'd personally go with the 670 though just because I prefer Nvidia. [editline]22nd February 2013[/editline] but if price is a concern the XT is totally fine
If you haven't already preordered Bioshock or have Crysis 3 then just get a 7950 to get those for free, not sure which games the XT comes with but the other 78xx cards have tomb raider instead of crysis.
Yea, that's kind of the reason I was pushing towards the 7950, and the XT comes with Bioshock Inf and tomb raider by the way
If you can afford it then go for it, you'll probably notice it later down the line when the 7870 starts to go like "but I don't want to process all that" Note: I haven't used a decent gaming pc in about 4 years
