So my wife's borrowed monitor had to be given back and we have to buy a new one.
I either need to:
A: find a large (> 25") 1080p monitor with inputs for a PS3 and a computer like DVI and HDMI or two HDMI.
OR
B: find a 1920x1200 monitor and a way to hook up my current monitor which only has one DVI input to a PS3 and computer.
Our budget is to stay under $300USD
Any help is appreciated.
You could get a HDMI-DVI cable and use that to hook up the PS3 to your current monitor, but that won't transfer sound, so you'd have to get sound out of the PS3 in some other way.
I was thinking of that as well, but the sound would be an issue as you stated.
EDIT:
I could hook up my current 2.1 system using a 3.5mm to composite cable...
But then I would need a KVM switch.
Get something like this and a DVI to HDMI adapter.
And for the monitor, this is a little over budget, but it is quite nice, and being an Ultrasharp, it will last forever.
That little HDMI switcher is beautiful for the price.

Yeah, I am curious about the build quality.
The reviews seem pretty promising aside from the occasional dud.
