My e8400 will go to 361 fsb and function flawlessly at 362 fsb it won't even post. Is this an FSB hole? [editline]16th November 2010[/editline] Gonna try jumping it. [editline]16th November 2010[/editline] Damn, wont do as I say :C I bet my fucking mobo is locked, time to hack mah bios.
CPUs aren't guaranteed to overclock beyond their rated speed. Assuming you've tried raising the voltage and it still failed, the CPU is likely maxed at 3200 MHz.
My laptop will OC fine at one speed and won't post at the next.
its not uncommon for there to be FSB holes in the upper 300s.My old motherboard had that issue, couldn't go past 382. Its less of an issue with the E5300 Wolfdale I'm using now. Its 2.6GHz stock at 800FSB, but runs stable at 4.33GHz with an FSB of 1333. It doesn't run too hot either, Idles at 37C and only gets to 64C under prime95.
