Well I live in North Texas. There was a huge hail storm yesterday and turned everything to ice. (Basically the whole area is a huge ice rink.) So I was looking outside my window today and saw a neighborhood cat walking across the street. Well it was near a storm drain and was looking in it (it has done this before but always knew to stay out of it.) and it slipped in! I thought to myself, what am I supposed to do? The power was out, it is -1 degrees outside with windchill, and my mom (who loves animals) would find it suspicious for me to run right outside and start looking in it. So I went outside to walk my dog and went by it. I didn't hear any meows and it seems like if there was nay water anywhere it would have froze.
So facepunch, what should I do? It would seem likely I have three choices. A, the cast fell in and broke his head/neck/body and is dead. B, the cat fell in and is in such pain he can't meow. (I hope to God not) And C, he fell in, was OK, and just ran through the frozen sewer and is hopefully fine wherever the sewer exited.
Please help. The guilt of not telling anybody is killing me. (I haven't told anyone because my mom loves animals so much I don't think she could bear the thought a cat is hurt or dead. She would end up crying for weeks and months.)

Uhh how about if you just said a cat fell in a freezing storm drain. You know, the truth.

Now you can't say anything, because it would be really weird.
If you can, please rename the thread to something more descriptive.
Also, you should have just told the truth. You're fucked now.
