My power supply recently blew (HIPRO HP-D3537F3R 350W) and I know nothing when it comes to hardware, what would be a cheap power supply that would replace this without case mods / etc?
Would a Rosewill RV350-2 350W work?
If you can dish out an extra $10 you can get a little more: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371029
$20 off, 400W, and 80 plus

This one is only $30 with after a rebate, but you probably don't need 620W. And rebates usually take some time
Wouldn't I need to modify my case? There's no vent for the PSU on the top.

psu can be installed both ways aslong as it has air

some cheaper cases won't have the mounting holes on the back for the PSU to be installed both ways, when flipped some screw holes are in different places.

Sorry i thought psu screws placement was a standard for all case makers
it's mostly just prebuilt cases and and the sub $40 range of offbrand stuff, but he should be able to install the new one how the old one previously was.
