I was playing crysis wars, and I wanted to make the game darker. I put the brightness/contrast/gamma settings down a bit, and the game got darker, but only for a second. The brightness of the game reverted back to default, but the sliders I used to edit the brightness level was left the same.
Now, I tried to do the same thing for the screen itself, using a tool in control panel. I turned the gamma down, and the screen was dark for a only a second, and reverted back to the default brightness, just like the game.
My drivers are updated, and my video card is: AMD Radeon HD 7700, and OS is Win7. I figure these are the only specs required. More are available on request. I just figure that this a video card problem. And I've already googled the problem, but to no avail. WAT DO?
Thanks for your time!
Full specs anyway:

Check your monitors menu if it has dynamic contrast enabled, turn that off. Also post your monitors make and model so we can look up in the manuals if there are any settings on it that could cause this.
Right-click Computer and choose Manage
In the window that opens choose Services and Applications/Services
In the new window double-click on the Service name 'Adaptive Brightness' and disable it and Stop the service
OK your way out and see if that makes a difference.
1. Open Power Options by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Security, and then clicking Power Options.
2. Under the current power plan, click Change plan settings.
3. On the Change settings for the plan page, click on Change advanced power settings.
4. In Advanced settings, scroll down the menu, click on Display and see if you find the dim feature listed here.
You may change the settings for Auto dim if present under display, accordingly to as you want.
