Experiencing Minions is like being waterboarded with diarrhea.
I feel like at this point hating minions is a fad like hating nickelback.
This minion hate thing is just a meme
This minion hate thing is just a meme
Everything's a fuckin meme nowadays.
I feel like at this point hating minions is a fad like hating nickelback.
Yeah I remember back when there were Nickelback balloons, shoes, stickers, soap, sponges, and clothes along with dozens of Nickelback commercials and billboards and all the little kids running around with Nickelback hats. Wait...
This minion hate thing is just a meme
How is being annoyed by the over exposure of something a meme?
Fucking Christ, I apologize. I thought that people saying that minions were everywhere were just exaggerating because of Facebook posts and shit, and it really wasn't that bad, because more of the Minion shit I've personally seen is more people complaining about the fad. I didn't know it really was this fucking over-exposed and everywhere.
Everything's a fuckin meme nowadays.
Complaining about everything being memes is a meme. Somebody ban this man before he turns this place into Reddit.
Do people just use the word "meme" to mean "popular thing" now?
Do people just use the word "meme" to mean "popular thing" now?
A meme is something that is reoccurring and characteristic of some (internet) cultures. It perfectly applies within context of what's been said in this thread.
Man I can't agree with this enough. I went to Hawaii last week and oh my fucking god they're everywhere. They're on the TV, at the beach, in the hotel, at the pool... I'm really glad it isn't a thing here at home.
Japan is pure of Minions? That's actually kinda surprising, they look like they'd be popular over there.
Illumination Entertainment is an American company. Not a lot of Western culture makes it way over to Japan, not that surprising. In cases like this I applaud them. Of course that doesn't mean the movies aren't available in Japan, but they don't "appreciate" minions as much as Westerners seem to.
A meme is something that is reoccurring and characteristic of some (internet) cultures.
A meme is just a program that runs on the wet computers we call brains. The fact that we call memes "memes" is a meme.
That's a bit too philosophical for my basic brain.
A meme is just a program that runs on the wet computers we call brains. The fact that we call memes "memes" is a meme.
"Everything is a meme" is the new "Everything is art".
"Everything is a meme" is the new "Everything is art".
1976 is't new.
Japan is pure of Minions? That's actually kinda surprising, they look like they'd be popular over there.
Well, we do have the movie going on over here, but at the moment there are other movies that are far more popular than the "Minions" movie, such as a few other Hollywood movies (Mission Impossible, Ted 2, Jurassic World, etc.) and a few Japanese animated movies (Attack on Titan, Naruto, etc.). Do note though that in the past similar trends have happened (*cough* Frozen *cough*), so it's not like anything like this hasn't happened at all.
I hate the minions hate get the fuck over it and ignore it
Japan is pure of Minions? That's actually kinda surprising, they look like they'd be popular over there.
When I was in Japan the only people with minion shit were Chinese tourists.
I hate the minions hate get the fuck over it and ignore it
How do you ignore oversaturation? I've already seen Minions at McDonald's, CVS, and even on my dorm floor. The only true way to ignore the Minions is to close your eyes forever.
Amazing that around the time of a franchises major movie release you see merchandise for said movie.....
Amazing that around the time of a franchises major movie release you see merchandise for said movie.....
There is way more Minion garbage than, say, Frozen had (and still has). It's like the amount of Angry Birds merchandise times a thousand. It's never been nearly this bad. I went to Walmart and I saw banana-scented minion shampoo. It was fifteen dollars.
From where i'm from, I have yet to personally see a minion.
my friend always gets this "just smelled shit" look on his face whenever he sees anything Minion related. We went to see Ant-Man and during the preview for Minions he just hung his head in disgust & shame. You know things are getting out of control when you can't go a day without something Minion related assaulting your senses. Marketing can be a frighting thing.
i do not remember the last day i had where it wasn't touched by minions intentionally or unintentionally. fuck minions
This minion hate thing is just a meme
Remember when things were called jokes, or trends, or fads? I wish we could rewind the clock where "meme" meant an advice dog or something like that
I have honestly not even noticed Minions to any annoying degree in my every day life. The places where Minions have been the most prominent to me have been circles of people online openly and loudly disliking them. Sure, when I walk down the mall I see some Minion merch every so often. My box of cereals has a minion on it. Before the minions, it was the animals from Madagascar, a movie I've never watched and will never bother watching - and that series also got a spin off dedicated to a specific group of characters from the original movie. And before that, there was Shrek, who got a metric ton of merch, something like four movies, and a spin off based on an alternative character. Don't forget the Rayman rabbits, which overtook the original franchise to the point of putting Rayman in a coma for quite a while. Get over yourselves. The Minions aren't the first nor will they be the last popular figure to be everywhere for a relatively short period of time. They're not even the most annoying by far, they're just stupid giggling yellow tic tacs with goggles, and they'll be gone before you're done complaining about them.
