• Steam purchases not going through
    18 replies, posted
I've been trying to buy Dawn of War 2: Chaos Rising while it's been on sale, but every card that I've tried to put in to purchase the game says that all of the them have been declined due to insufficient funds. I checked the balances on the cards and there's enough to get the game, so I don't understand the problem. Is anyone else having any kind of problem like this? Is it Steam or is it just all of my cards? I don't understand as I just bought Civ 4 and Half-Life 2 a few days ago with no problems whatsoever. I've already checked the Steam support pages and their solutions don't really do anything. Any help is appreciated.
Check your cards again. They don't refuse purchases unless there's something wrong with them.
are you using a prepaid debit card?
are you using a prepaid debit card?
Does not matter, Ive Used them before
I've tried 4 of the cards multiple times and they still haven't gone through. And using a pre-paid debit really wouldn't matter, as Slingo has already said.
sometimes it's denied if you've bought a number of games with it, I know as I've had problems gifting before, but it should work if it's for yourself
Still nothing.
Deactivated card? :cop:
Nope, checked them. For some reason, I never got a receipt from Steam in my email, but when I launched Dawn of War 2, I had access to the features of Chaos Rising? None of the credit card payments went fully through but somehow it worked? I'm very confused.
Huh? That's weird. Especially since you'd have to activate the CD key over GFWL. Check your statements to make sure they didn't charge you.
Try it in a web browser not in steam
I didn't even activate the CD key over GFWL...gotta check all those cards now to see if all of them were charged or not.
And now it's not working again. Tell me how this makes sense at all?
I have the same problem. Try making a new account and gifting games to yourself. That is what I've been doing for about a year. No matter what card I use, it always declines it. But it always works with my alternate account that I gift myself with.
You know, some debit accounts refuse to let you spend enough money to get under a certain amount.
I'll try gifting it to myself, and The Last Man, a card that would not left the money get below 2,000? I don't know...
I still can't buy anything with any card for some reason, I even tried to gift myself the gift. What's not working here?
The only time I'm unable to buy anything with my card is when I don't have enough funds in my checking. Using a debit card with Mastercard logo.
 I linked my card through PayPal and now I can buy games through Steam with PayPal
