Donald Trump administration has found only $20m of $21bn needed for Mexican border wall
President Donald Trump’s promise to use existing funds to begin immediate construction of a wall on the US-Mexico border has hit a financial roadblock, according to a document seen by Reuters.
The rapid start of construction, promised throughout Trump's campaign and in an executive order issued in January on border security, was to be financed, according to the White House, with “existing funds and resources” of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
But so far, the DHS has identified only $20 million that can be re-directed to the multi-billion-dollar project, according to a document prepared by the agency and distributed to congressional budget staff last week.
To put this into perspective, that's about .09% of the way there.
Imagine what public schools could do with 21b.
But we're building this cockgargler an ego monument.
Legit though how the fuck does this matter if Mexico is going to pay for it
it was literally the cornerstone of his campaign wow good fucking job idiot
He went from "Mexico will pay for it" to "Mexico will pay for it... later".
I didn't know DHS had a fund they could spend money on like this, just always assumed such a large infrastructure project would require congress to sit down and legislate it. I just assumed we would get a much smaller border security bill passed that Trump would hail as a "wall" but if he actually gets $21 billion in tax dollars earmarked for it that would be actually insane.
What is it with fiscal conservatives spending their government spending on useless shit whilst cutting funding to important things? 21 billion to a fucking monument to Trump's ego whilst your schools and hospitals, and your benefit and social programmes are underfunded.

Imagine $21 billion anywhere. If we just gave $21 billion to the Navy or the Army it would be a more useful investment.

And they're the same ones who accuse liberal governments of needless spending. Hilarious.
He went from "Mexico will pay for it" to "Mexico will pay for it... later".
From here it goes, "mexico wont pay for it, but you sorry lot will".
trump should consider employing his old tactic of not paying workers to fix this financial roadblock
I don't understand why he doesn't just reroute the military spending
I don't understand why he doesn't just reroute the military spending
gotta flex that military muscle hard
I'm not paying for this stupid fucking wall
Building a giant wall in the year 2017 to keep people out is some wile e coyote ass logic
I don't understand why he doesn't just reroute the military spending
He's already being criticized by the GOP for not bumping military spending up enough
I don't understand why he doesn't just reroute the military spending
Because he thinks we need to buy more nukes.
I don't understand why he doesn't just reroute the military spending
Because he was elected on the promise that he would increase military spending.

21 billion is for materials only :terrists:
So I'm gonna owe on my taxes this year. I'm half tempted to just not pay it because if my president doesn't pay his taxes, why should I? Also I don't want to help fund fuckery like this.

The IRS doesn't give a shit who you voted for, and they don't like people who play games with them, so do this at your own risk.

The IRS sure is going to love that. Remember to fill out Form 3949-A with your information and mail it to them so they know you're not filing your taxes otherwise you could get in major trouble.
have they checked behind all the couches yet? sometimes loose change from my pocket falls into the cracks of the couch

shhhh dont say that, thats where trump hides his taxes
I wonder how much it would cost to just put a single file line of mines across the entire border. Assuming each mine is about 30 dollars, that the border is 1954 miles long, and that we put a mine every foot and a half. That would be 6,878,080 mines at a cost of 206.4 million dollars.

$206 million is quite an affordable cost considering mines along the Mexico-US border are the last puzzle piece for the Fascist Junta Starter Kit.
We've been over this recently enough. It's a terrible idea because the southern US border will become a landscape dotted by legless, dying children. If this is what making America great looks like, America doesn't deserve greatness.

It was more to highlight that even if he limited the wall to this pitiful idea he still isn't even 10% there funding wise.
