The Trump administration is poised to ask Congress for deep budget cuts to the Energy Department’s renewable energy and energy efficiency programs, slashing them by 72 percent overall in fiscal 2019, according to draft budget documents obtained by The Washington Post.
Many of the sharp cuts would likely be restored by Congress, but President Trump’s budget due out in February will mark a starting point for negotiations and offer a statement of intent and policy priorities.
The document underscores the administration’s continued focus on the exploitation of fossil fuel resources — or as Trump put it in his State of the Union address, “beautiful clean coal” — over newer renewable technologies seen as a central solution to the problem of climate change.
Are they really fooling anyone at this point? They might as well just cut it by one hundred percent and call it the "Fuck the Earth, Our Coal Buddies Have Us Bought and Paid Act"
White House relocated to top of Volcano, where frequent bolts of lightning come crashing down and maniacal laughter can be heard
Complain that China is beating us in the solar energy market, but also do everything you can to cut down on renewable energy research and bolster fossil fuels...
A decade from now, the US will remember those filthy democRats and their polluting windmills that sucked the smog from China to America.
Make America Coal Dependent Again
Or
Make Air Unbreathable Again
the end of the american age is upon us. We are destined to fall behind.
Put it all in Military though because logic amiright?

I wonder how long it takes for the GOP to realize we can't breath drones and SAMs.

a free tank to house every homeless man in america
Haha, clean energy is getting more efficient and cheaper than fossil fuels every day and now they want China to lead the research, is that it?
Trump is literally just selling the United States to China, the irony is beyond measure.

I find this silly. This whole fiasco is a minor speedbump really, what with new clean energy tech developing faster than anyone can try and stop it.

but technology requires a pipeline of innovation and research. Sulphur based batteries appear to be about to break into production but its been probably twenty years of development
Imagine being someone who has enough money put away that you won't have to worry about fuck all for the rest of your life, and not wanting to be one of the people who revolutionizes energy.

They will turn the statue of liberty into a giant space robot with a vacuum cleaner that flies to and sucks the clean air from the skies of other nations.
