The Defense Ministry officially unveiled the most well-shielded and first wheeled new 'Eitan' armored personnel carrier (APC) on Monday which will be added to active duty use alongside the IDF's Namer ("Leopard") APCs, mainly used by the Golani brigade.
The new APC will be equipped with an active interception defense system capable of intercepting incoming anti-tank missiles—similar to the Trophy system already used by some IDF tanks. Despite this addition, the the 35-ton beast is expected to cost around half that of its predecesor, which costs approximately $3 million.
It's cheap and it's missile proof.
That looks like it'd be handy in a traffic jam. You can always uh... manuvour yourself over the traffic in that. It's a bit pricey but it'd do the job as a commercial car.
the octopus
Looks kinda cool
Looks like a Merkava with wheels.
Point defense/active protection is so damn impressive.
Will we eventually reach a point where it's literally impossible to destroy armored vehicles at range with projectiles unless the target runs out of countermeasures?

No, countermeasures can be tricked, jammed, or the weapon can exceed the capabilities of the countermeasure (usually by going too fast or by being more difficult to detect).
Its the Marshal from Arma 3.

i dont think there are really countermeasures for protecting against kinetic penetrators other than extremely thick/advanced armor, but i don't think that qualifies as a countermeasure
you can't really fool or easily stop one of those

Actually this is the Marshal from Arma 3.
Impressive piece of kit if I do say so myself, just one more reason not to piss off Israel.

I hope so, which means the age of giant melee robots will be upon us
Looks very similar to the JGSDF's Type 96 armored personnel carrier.

All APCs are starting to look pretty much the same to me.

You could really say that about all ACPs.
All APCs are starting to look pretty much the same to me.
Pretty much every modern mainstay armoured vehicle looks the same; To the untrained eye, most first-world MBTs will be indistinguishable if they have the same paint scheme.

The Marauder is still more badass though.

Not really. It's just another MRAP, not a full blown APC.
No, the bradley is the most badass.
For all the bitching it gets, it has few combat losses and adds combat flexibility to mechanized infantry that simply isn't there otherwise. Six dismounts is worse than eight, but I'll take six dismounts accompanied by a 25mm and TOW missiles any day over two extra rifles.

Yeah but the marauder was on top gear.

You know what else has six dismounts?

Not just six dismounts but also employing the same active protection system they've installed on their new APC, and containing an internal 60mm mortar.

So the Bradley's the best because it went up against a shithole country that lacked modern armor? The Bradley's tank killing record isn't that impressive since the same could be done with any TOW missile armed vehicle. Bradley is also super slow, heavy, and can't swim. There aren't many positives to the thing.

You're right, I take it back. The Merkava wins. I always forget that thing is technically an APC.

Really it wins, Merkava aside, because it adds flexibility to an infantry squad that otherwise simply isn't there.
A m242 and TOW launcher coupled with decent armor (when upgraded) and smoke screen capabilities allows an infantry squad to generally engage anything short of a fixed wing attack aircraft. Even gunships need to stay away from that bushmaster or they are going to have a bad day. It is slow, but you arrive with tactical flexibility that would otherwise simply not be available. Tanks, APC's, IFV's, helicopters, entrenched structures, and infantry all have reason to fear a Bradley. The Bradley isn't wheels with a MG for defense, it is an addition to the squad itself.
It could totally be better, but that doesn't seem to be the path we are going.
