Hummer says it's recalling all the 2006 through 2010 model year H3 SUVs because a fake hood vent might come loose, fly off and cause who-knows-what kind of trouble.
The fix: Glue it on.
Those of us who think fake vents are an abomination -- Make 'em real or leave 'em off -- see something karmic in the situation.
H3 is the small Hummer, based on General Motors' small Chevrolet and GMC pickups. The recall covers 198,404 H3 and H3T models worldwide. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says 162,129 of them are in the U.S.
Hummer is a now-discontinued General Motors brand that made only SUVs. GM says it's had two complaints of loose hood louvers in the U.S. and three in Japan.
GM tried unsuccessfully to sell Hummer to a Chinese buyer earlier this year.[/release]
One more reason fake hood vents suck.

I thought the making of hummers stopped.

Fixed.
Pfft, the H1 was the only good one. It was more or less a military truck converted for civilian use, which made it awesome.

And even then it was completely unnecessary.
Well, thank goodness the plastic load points are still holding up. That would be such a disaster if they were to come loose.
