Loved the book, hopefully this does it justice. Couldn't help but think of "The Begun of Tigtone" when looking at the animation though, is that bad? :v:
FRANK: This series is artistically going to share a lot with Sequence’s previous style, so you’ll see some continuity for sure, but the scale and fidelity of the animation for this is more ambitious than Sequence’s already gorgeous, dreamlike tradition – and this is fully animated and mostly 3D. It’s just a lot more work, and not just in animating, but in shading and texturing the painterly style. It’s hard work.
The trailer might just be something made for CC, not actual footage from the show.
If this is supposed to be the Fall of Reach arc, why are all the Spartans in the video wearing 343's shitty GEN2 Mk. VI MJOLNIR. And do they think it's really a good idea to finally show Chief's face in a random motion comic of all things? So far not liking anything about this.
It better keep Bungies Spartan armor design, not the greebly gundam shit 343 threw our way. If they use nanites as an excuse again I'll go completely mad
Whoa, this looks pretty fucking close to the book just from those few snippets. Got a bad feeling though because 343. Hopefully this is actually good, and in turn makes them do the same for First Strike. I wanna see the covenant and human ship connected together to make a super weapon.

And his face also appeared in the comic adaptation of FoR. They showed his eyes in the legendary ending of Halo 4
If this is supposed to be the Fall of Reach arc, why are all the Spartans in the video wearing 343's shitty GEN2 Mk. Oh God I'm gonna cry so bad when [sp]Sam dies[/sp] just like I did when it happened in the book.

I kind of wish they'd go back to the idea of a Halo movie rather than all these TV series they do.
If this is supposed to be the Fall of Reach arc, why are all the Spartans in the video wearing 343's shitty GEN2 Mk. It's honestly a question I want to ask them if I ever get the chance: "Why are there continuity holes that you have introduced" As for this, i'll remain optimistic. Could be good, could be bad.

Dude, they fucking retconned the MJOLNIR armor. They just took the most recognizable suit of armor in any work of media and were like "y'know what Halo could benefit from? Not looking like Halo anymore. Quick! Fire Shi Kai Wang, Robt McLees, and everyone that gave a shit about this franchise. I want it to look like Gundam, but shittier!". I fucking hate you, Microsoft. The art style divergence from Halo 3 to Halo 4 was sickening. They changed everything and they knew they'd get away with it because they put "HALO" on the box. Halo: Reach had the best art direction of any installment in the franchise, everything had a very utilitarian look, things made sense, and most of all, it looked UNSC and stood true to the Halo theme. It had charm. This? It's the slow death of the franchise. It's like if, instead of Disney buying Star Wars and (seemingly) treating it carefully and with respect to both the origins of the movies and the fanbase, Lucas sold Star Wars to to The Asylum for the price of a big mac. And then they would do exactly what you'd expect them to do with it. I'm fucking heated. Now I know what original SW fans felt when Episode 1 came out.
Hopefully this is good. I got about a quarter of the way through the book before my fucking dog chewed it to hell.

I don't think they're retconing the design at all. I think there was some miscommunication with the art team. Someone didn't tell them what armour to use Or it was a cost saving measure and they just reused existing assets. Also don't yell in Microsoft, yell at 343 it was their team who designed the armour.
I did notice that they seemed to stay true to the key plot points of the book, which is a big plus in my book
True that, I just hope the use the right versions of shit, like for example they better not be basing the grunts/elites off those Gears of War lookin' motherfuckers in 4.
