What is it? It's a fairy tale like adventure through a cozy but menacing autumn woods. 2 boys are lost in it and they are trying to get home while trying to avoid the beast. Mix in some old timey music and beautifully painted worlds and it's an absolute joy to watch. As far as I'm aware, it's the first ever attempt at cartoon network to do something in a mini series format like this, and with the emergence of running stories in their recent shows, it's refreshing to see one with a satisfying set ending. Oh also a lot of celebrity talent. Elijah Wood, Christopher Lloyd, Tim Curry...

Anyone else seen it yet/seeing it now? I like cartoons more than most, but this is one of the first times I can say a cartoon amazed me. I'm hope we get more mini series format shows like this in the future.
In my book, Over the Garden Wall is an Autumn classic and I'll be watching it during many Falls to come. It makes for a good special between It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown and Peanuts' Thanksgiving in my opinion.
That was really good. I'm glad I gave it a shot even though I'm not a big fan of musical cartoons.
They picked the perfect voice actors for this IMO.
[sp]The whole reveal that they were from the 80s really should have been saved for the very end. It killed the mood imo.[/sp]
Other than that I loved it. This shit's gonna be something I watch every thanksgiving I reckon.
[sp] The fucking Beast reveal was horrifying as fuck[/sp]

[sp]I've seen people say it should be at the start, some say at the end. I think it was perfectly fine right before the end. The climax had to be with the beast, doing it at the end would kill the momentum and just act as weird exposition. The beginning would kill some of the mystery that reveal had and they built up to it subtly over time. I think showing it as Wirt was phased out before the final episode was the best way to do it.[/sp]
But yeah, fantastic seasonal show.
Just watched the whole lot and goddamn, It was fucking amazing.
I watched this twice over the last week, I really hope Cartoon Network keep doing more good stuff like this.
The fact that Wirt and Greg are[sp]from the 80's is foreshadowed in the second episode, where Wirt wonders if anyone in town has a phone.[/sp]It slipped my mind at the time.

Also [sp] Wirt mentioning highschool seemed weird to me, but after googling it apparently the word existed since 1500. Also Gregory having candy in his pants.[/sp]
its really good
This series was the first time I've legit cried watching something in 10 fucking years shit.
It's got all the good qualities of modern cartoons like Gravity Falls and Adventure time and such with a charm that can only be given by the movies of old like Bambie and Winnie the Pooh.
wish i could find it all online to watch in a single go
