Egyptian doctor al-Zawahiri said in the message: “We have endured a lot of harm from Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and his brothers, and we preferred to respond with as little as possible, out of our concern to extinguish the fire of sedition.
Source.
Hopefully we don't see an 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend' type-situation again.
Well that's good i guess?
Ship weapons to Al Qaeda. Where do I donate?
Watch as more innocents are killed in the process. This is not a good thing at all.
Hopefully we don't see an 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend' type-situation again.
That's what started Al Qaeda in the first place..
I doubt the results of extremist fighting extremists can be good.
Watch as more innocents are killed in the process. This is not a good thing at all.
Innocents are going to die no matter what happens.
That's what started Al Qaeda in the first place..
No, it was a bunch of Islamic extremists who wanted to fight the heathen Soviets who were invading Muslim lands.
No, it was a bunch of Islamic extremists who wanted to fight the heathen Soviets who were invading Muslim lands.
And then the US provided weapons and training. Like people above said, "enemy of my enemy"...
Well they weren't really invading, more propping up the communist government of Afghanistan. It was pretty much the Soviet Union's Vietnam war.
team up with al qaeda, backstab al qaeda when isis is dead foolproof plan
And then the US provided weapons and training. Like people above said, "enemy of my enemy"...
China and Pakistan did it too. It wasn't all Americas fault
Whatever wipes isis off the planet, I think...
Innocents are going to die no matter what happens.
Yeah but two ruthless terrorist organizations fighting one another is surely to boost that number.
China and Pakistan did it too. It wasn't all Americas fault
Two US allies.
on 9/11 no less
Ship weapons to Al Qaeda. Where do I donate?
But we already did 30 years ago.
This is good...I think :/ oh well at least we don't have to fight them.
Two US allies.
Most of the world is a US ally so I dunno where you're going with this
at least we won't ship weapons to them, right guys? ... guys? please no.
at least we won't ship weapons to them, right guys? ... guys? please no.
It kinda bit us in the ass last time so the safe bet is that we won't.
Having a hard time trying to figure out if this is good or bad. On one hand; Al Qaeda know the terrain and could probably get this shit done quicker cause they know shit and have connections. On the other hand; its Al Qaeda.
I have a feeling Al Queda will be defeated and absorbed into IS fairly quickly.
I thought they already declared war considering al Qaeda factions have been on very unfriendly terms (shooting level of unfriendly) with the daeshbags from the get-go. Either way this is a good thing. Factional infighting (call it a civil war if you want) among the global Islamic terrorist network is great, it could very well disintegrate the network entirely which would mean the last of the old "glory days" al Qaeda institutions will have fallen.
what will they actually do tho.. they can't crash their plane into anything because it'll just destroy things isis don't give a shit about anyway.
at least we won't ship weapons to them, right guys? ... guys? please no.
The U.S never shipped weapons to Al Qaeda. The Mujahideen was a different animal in a different situation.

Also, what the hell is Al Qaeda going to fight all of the Islamic State with? They've barely gotten any membership left, most have already gone to join IS already or have been killed, captured, or given up due to the intense US conflict with them. [editline]11th September 2015[/editline]
I have a feeling Al Queda will be defeated and absorbed into IS fairly quickly.
Al Qaeda and IS have fundamentally different Islamist ideologies. Al Qaeda sees itself as a vanguard force to ready the world for the future Caliphate. IS sees itself as the Caliphate in the here & now. And both agree both can't be true.
