I have a nagging feeling it could be something ala The Brady Bunch Movie. As in Pee-Wee acts like its the 80's but its modern day. And I say this having seen Pee-Wee's Playhouse On Broadway, where they injected modern stuff into what was a combination of Pee-Wee's Playhouse and The Pee-Wee Herman Show.
FTR: Not saying it as a bad thing. I've been a Pee-Wee fan since my parents let me stay up to watch the original Pee-Wee Herman show on HBO back when I was 5 or 6.

I loved the Pee Wee show on Broadway back in 2010. Glad to see another Pee Wee movie is coming to the big screen.
I think Paul Reubens has a big pair of balls to be able to do what he does as pee-wee.
Pee-wee in his golden days was a stroke of comic genius whether or not you feel it sucks now or not.
It's hard to find new creative talent in comedy like this now, really.
