• Lines on my monitor?

I keep seeing like tiny tiny lines flashing everywhere. This has been happening for a while now and it's getting very annoying. They are kind of like clear lines that just like make text look all weird. I really don't know how to explain it. My monitor is an Acer AL2216W 22", and I put the resolution at 1440 by 900, if I put it higher than that it looks like shit. Also if this matters I am on XP and my graphics card is a NVIDIA Geforce 9600 GT. Thanks!
We need more information. DVI, HDMI, VGA, does it do it on other PCs? Is 1440 x 900 your native resolution? It's most likely the GPU or the monitor, or possibly interference if you're using VGA or DVI-A.
1440 x 900 is my native resolution, and I'm using VGA.
Alright, try DVI then (or HDMI). Or another VGA cable. You can get them cheap online and at thrift stores like Goodwill, at least in my area. Make sure it's fully connected, too.
Your native resolution is actually 1680x1050, but VGA can't always go that high.
Yes, AL2216W is 1680 x 1050 - VGA shouldn't have a problem with that, though.
I've had that when my monitors cable hasn't been properly plugged in, my whole monitor can even start displaying everything completely in a purple color :gay:
This happened to me and my laptop a while ago. Apparently a pixel in the monitor fails and fucks up everything else near it. The only way to fix it is to order yourself a new monitor, at least that's the only way I was able to fix mine. How long have you had that monitor? I had my laptop for ages when the screen blew out.
