People are weird on issues like that. He could've probably eaten a puppy on live TV and people would still vote for him as long as he supported veterans.

Both Republican and Democrat friends I have alike love Crist. He was a good governor when we had him, and only the hardcore Republicans down here don't like him (because he's a turncoat).
State polls also agree with this sentiment.

NPR is calling this particular gubernatorial election "one of the most pointless in history."
Turnouts at the polls are expected to be embarrassingly low, because both candidates are greatly disliked by the majority of voters. Both are considered petty and ill-suited for leadership, in a best-case scenario. Yet one of these two men will inevitably run Florida for at least the next four years.
