Because apparently these genres dont count as hardcore or punk and we cant post them in the Hardcore/Punk thread v:v:v Feel free to discuss post hardcore, pop punk, nintendocore, electronicore or just about any other sub-genre of hardcore/punk. Post Hardcore
Post-hardcore is a genre of music that developed from hardcore punk, itself an offshoot of the broader punk rock movement. Like post-punk, post-hardcore is a term for a broad constellation of groups. Many emerged from the hardcore punk scene, or took inspiration from hardcore, while concerning themselves with a wider degree of expression. The genre took shape in the mid- to late-1980s with releases from bands from the Midwestern United States. Particularly, from the scenes in Washington, D.C. such as Fugazi as well as slightly different sounding groups such as Big Black and Jawbox that stuck closer to the noise rock roots of post-hardcore.
Examples of Post Hardcore; The Fall of Troy: Dance Gavin Dance: In Fear and Faith: Pop Punk
Pop punk is a fusion music genre that combines elements of punk rock with pop music, to varying degrees. Allmusic describes the genre as a strand of alternative rock, which typically merges pop melodies with speedy punk tempos, chord changes and loud guitars. About.com has described contemporary pop punk bands as having "a radio friendly sheen to their music, but still maintaining much of the speed and attitude of classic punk rock". It is not clear when the term pop punk was first used, but pop-influenced punk rock had been around since the mid- to late-1970s. An early use of the term pop punk appeared in a 1977 New York Times article, "Cabaret: Tom Petty's Pop Punk Rock Evokes Sounds of 60s". In the mid-1990s, the California pop punk bands Green Day and The Offspring, who were later followed by Blink-182, would all achieve worldwide commercial success. From the mid-1990s onwards, some bands associated with the genre have been described as "happy punk", "faux-punk", "mall punk", "pseudo-punk" or "bubblegum punk".
Examples of Pop Punk; Green Day The Offspring Nintendocore
Nintendocore (also referred to as Nintendo rock, video rock, or nerdcore) is a music genre that fuses elements of modern rock with 8-bit music, chiptunes, and video game music. Nintendocore emerged from hardcore punk, post-hardcore, and metalcore, and has been influenced by a variety of other genres, including electro, noise rock, post-rock, and screamo.
Examples of Nintendocore; iamerror: As The World Fades: I set my Pixels on Fire: HORSE the Band: The Wave: The wave is a subgenre that looks to put more meaning and passion into music, bands in the wave include La Dispute, Touche Amore, and Pianos Become the Teeth among others. Man guys, you have to go back to the roots. American Hardcore in the 80s was so intense. All the bands like Blag Flag, Cro-Mags, Sheer Terror, Bad Brainz, Sick of it all, Agnostic Front, Minor Threat and many others. This documentary is pretty kickass. i'm pretty sure they stay in 4/4 pretty much all the time lol They play mathcore influenced stuff but they stay in 4/4 so I wouldn't really call them mathcore pseudo-mathcore
The Fall of Troy are from a town very close to me, I don't really like them but it's still pretty cool.
not what I was expecting from a post hardcore thread... Fugazi Unwound Nomeansno Drive Like Jehu

Seriously, grow up man. Just because we have different tastes in music doesn't mean you have to come in here and flame it.
Probably one of my favorite post-hardcore bands is Pierce The Veil. They have a bit of a prog-rock influence on their music, but it's not as evident on their second album. Still, give it a listen: Also, the past few days I've gotten really int I See Stars. They're more of an electronicore band, and they take the bubblegum pop catchiness up to an absurd level. IFAF is really good, but I think my two favorite post-hardcore artists right now are The Word Alive and Asking Alexandria. Deceiver and Reckless & Relentless were some of my favorite albums.
