• Hooray, can't hear a shit from the speakers

After I solved this "WMP not playing WAVs", a different sound problem has re-emerged. It goes like this: I do something I do every day on my computer, and BANG, suddenly I can't hear any sounds. I checked if all the cables are connected, and they are. The problem shouldn't be in my audio drivers either. What should I do? What could I do? Can I do anything? I can't? :gonk:
Test the speakers on another computer.
Go into your control panel and make sure that the device you use for sound is your default device.

Check this: Yeah, I know it seems dumb, but just check it to make sure

Alright I'm bumping this, because the problem remains. I checked all the volume buttons and sliders and everything was normal. The weirdest things are that A: It's the fucking Steam chat message sound that always, FUCKING ALWAYS causes this and B: When I shut down my piece of junk, the shut-down sound plays even though all the other sounds are broken/muted what the hell ever. What the fuck is this shit?!
