• best os to run on usb with games and shit

I have a [sp]Computer Apps class*[/sp] that is extremely easy, and I finish my assignments quite early during class, so I was planning on bringing in a USB and booting up a portable OS with some games on it or something so I'd have something to do when finished. What is the best OS to do this on? Linux seems pretty cool, but I have no idea if it'd be appropriate. [sp]*please don't give me any shit about not doing my work or something[/sp]
why don't you do your work
A linux distro is probably your best bet. You can't really run Windows or OSX from a flash drive. And if you can, I'm sure it's very difficult.
You are better off installing steam to a usb and running that Use Sandboxie

You won't do much from a flash drive. I hope Solitaire is right up your street. Cram steam on using WINE and pray it's stable as you play CS:S [editline]11:13PM[/editline] You won't do much from a flash drive. I hope Solitaire is right up your street. Linux has a bunch of games that are good enough to kill some time. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Games
I don't think I phrased my question well enough. I meant to ask what the best OS to use in correspondence with games that I already have on the USB. I'm thinking of putting CS1.6 on there, and some other things. Maybe a few emulators and some roms.
A linux distro will run CS1.6 and a lot of other games with WINE properly installed.
i'm confused. why do you need a whole separate OS to run your games?
I've been thinking of doing something like this too, before I used to put openarena (F2P game) on a flash drive and just run it on my schools OS but none of my saved things worked so that was a problem.

Also, I think I heard of WINE before, I was just wondering 1. Does it install like a normal program? 2. Where do you get it for the linux OS you guys are talking about.

WINE works for Linux, not windows.
Someone learned how to spoiler tag
USB is a port not a device.
