I've been looking online for a while for exercises that'll help me gain more vertical reach, but I'm looking at a lot of conflicting theories.
So far, the most promising thing I've read is doing weighted jumping squats to develop the muscles and get your body conditioned for the range of motion that's jumping..
Has anybody "been there, done that" and gained a few inches on their jump?
You're going to have to get a negroplasty. If you're interested, I know some doctors who are willing to do the procedure.

Hey Downsider, you should look into plyometrics. Since you're looking on improving your vertical reach, you will need faster, more explosive muscles to produce faster, more explosive movements.
Look into these videos:
Look at the motion of the arm swing, the foot placement, and where he jumps off his foot. Very important.

Squats and other weighted exercises do help improve your muscles but plyometrics teaches you how to use those muscles better.
Well if you just squat you wont be jumping much higher. You have to train your explosive strength. The volleyball players here do weighted jumping squats. Go down slowly and try to jump high. You don't need much weight.

This one's a bit of a myth, but it might work. I'd recommend researching into it a little to make sure you're not wasting your time.
What you do is you dig yourself a shallow, flat hole, about an inch deep. Get into the hole, and jump in and out of it 100 times. After you've finished that round, take a break. After your break, add another inch to your hole, and do another 100 reps. Continue adding inches and doing reps until you can jump over buildings.
Again, I'm not sure how authentic this is. I'd look into it some more.
