Please forgive my stupid question, but why is having pictures of him online so bad?

This sucks. Sure, what he did was evil as all hell, but he hasn't reoffended, and he doesn't deserve to be hunted down because of something he probably regrets like nothing else.

But in the case of Venables it looks to have sent him down the wrong one. Least we forget that nothing has been heard of Robert Thompson so for all we know could have a life and a family but will allways have to live with what he's done hanging over his head like the blade of damocles knowing that all it takes is a document to be leaked or an email missent and he'll lose it all and be a dead man walking.

The comments are winding me up. "yeah lets torture him the same way he did thats totally fine and not a barbaric way of thinking and anyone who opposes our way of thinking even if you make valid points about proper conduct of justice you support child murders and deserve to be hanged as well"

Usually the fact they take so much care to protect people who have done horrific things pisses me off- but he was 10 years old when this happened, what he did was fucked up, but as a 10 year old i dont think it was an act of pure evil, he clearly had some serious issues underlying it- issues he was too young to understand.
