So a while ago, there was a dll that was posted in Hardware and Software (maybe the windows subforum?) that featured text shadowing and anti-aliasing and whatnot when put inside the windows folder. Well, I'm pretty sure that dll is breaking certain fonts, making them unreadable. It would be easy to fix if I knew the name.

I think it is gdi.dll or gdi32.dll
You likely know what to do now, just download the official ones from those dumbed down to consumer level dll sites

The thing is, it also has a .ini or .cfg with the same name, and lets you control the parameters via that file (eg fontshadowing = 0.2 or something similar). none of my gdi.dll's or gdi32.dlls have a matching .ini or .cfg, although I'll try to find replacements anyway.

Also, trying to replace either file requires me booting into safe mode or something, and I'm pretty sure I never had to replace any files when installing this .dll, which means it doesn't share a name with a normal system .dll.
