After acquiring every last episode of The Simpsons last fall for a cool $750 million, the young network is preparing to air all 25 seasons (and the movie) of one of the greatest television shows of all time from August 21st to September 1st. This means that all 552 episodes of the series will air 24 hours a day, seven days a week for a full week and a half. In addition, Variety reports that FXX will launch the "Simpsons World" digital hub in October, which will allow cable subscribers to watch every episode on demand on their desktops at SimpsonsWorld.com, mobile devices via the FXNow app, and on compatible smart TVs and set-top boxes. All the more reason for cable cutters to consider subscribing to cable sometime.
pasted the entire article because it's really short. I really never watched the Simpsons before but now I have a reason too! http://www.theverge.com/2014/7/21/5923403/fxx-will-marathon-the-entire-simpsons-series-next-month-before
Let's just hope that guy doesn't die doing the marathon

buys 50 DVRs
how have you not watched the simpsons before? that's crazy
when I was younger my parents were really restrictive with media and it's only been the last couple they've loosened their grip. one of things I was never allowed to watch was The Simpsons, and I have never been able to find a reliable online source that didn't seem shady. Though, we watched a couple episodes in my Counter Culture class in my Junior year, as they related to what we had been talking about.
I thought they were going to put it online for free. Then I remembered its owned by Fox in 2014.
how have you not watched the simpsons before? that's crazy
i havent watched it either so one of the many popular things i never touched (harry potter is another)
I found another source that lists the features of Simpsons World.
* Every episode ever, in an order that's easy to browse, but also easy to search. (The original "Simpsons" clips from "The Tracey Ullman Show" are not currently part of the package, but FX is talking to Matt Groening about it; "I know Matt has a very open mind to that," said FX COO Chuck Saftler. "The Simpsons Movie" will appear intermittently on the app, but won't be available constantly.) * A search function that allows you to quickly find — and share across social media — your favorite "Simpsons" joke or scene. At the moment, I cannot show you the "free goo" scene, or Homer contemplating the excitement of floor pie or waffle runoff; with Simpsons World, I can do it easily. I can also find every Disco Stu scene in one shot, or any story where Marge gets a new job, etc. * Ability to curate your own playlists of episodes and/or scenes, and a learning function that will then recommend similar ones for you to try or revisit. * An exhaustive episode guide that can be opened up to run parallel to the episode, featuring historical references, behind-the-scenes info, quotes, etc. You can also have each episode's script scrolling along as you watch it, and you can excerpt and share parts of the script, as well. Most of that functionality should be ready for the October launch, and even more should be introduced in January. (FX's president of marketing Stephanie Gibbons told me after the panel that the goal was to get the episodes and the ability to search for and share clips up immediately, and follow with more bonuses later.)
http://www.hitfix.com/whats-alan-watching/press-tour-fxx-unveils-simpsons-world-portal-to-drooling-critics#uiqAXKluLic0yaL4.99 [editline]22nd July 2014[/editline] only thing required to do to watch entire episodes is to validate that your cable package comes with FX.
Lisa for 552 episodes? No thanks.

Meanwhile Sweden will keep showing Simpsons episodes from the 90s forever.
Meanwhile Sweden will keep showing Simpsons episodes from the 90s forever.
I feel that's not the most terrible thing. I only own Seasons 3 -6. Those episodes have never been old, and never lose their charm.

Now, I can understand Family Guy, but not The Simpsons.
Lisa for 552 episodes? No thanks.
I just read that in her voice.
I remember hearing a similar thing from another person with their parents doing that. Now, I can understand Family Guy, but not The Simpsons.
my parents were really damn strict with TV, I couldn't even watch Rugrats. There was a lot they never let me watch. I'm 17 and part of me still fears watching R rated movies or TV-14 and TV-MA shows because of that :/
I had a friend in fourth grade that couldn't watch Rugrats because it showed cartoon butts.

There's nothing violent, crude, or sexual about the simpsons compared to most kids shows at the time!
I remember hearing about someone on FP that wasn't allowed to watch rugrats because one of the characters was a Jew
I think I quote The Simpsons like 5-10 times every day without even consciously realising it [editline]23rd July 2014[/editline] Feels like I'm quoting nothing at all!
I just read that in her voice.
And I just read that in Farnsworth's.
