• Miyamoto: Super Mario Galaxy 3 is always a possibility
Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto, along with Super Mario Galaxy director Yoshiaki Koizumi-san, are always looking into creating another Super Mario Galaxy. "[A new Mario Galaxy] is always in discussion," Miyamoto told Eurogamer. "But even with Mario 64there was a lot of feedback about motion sickness with the 3D or maybe us making it too difficult. Going back to our roots and making New Super Mario Bros., anyone can play that. So that's why we went back." "On the other hand, me and [Yoshiaki] Koizumi-san, director of Galaxy, are always looking to challenge Galaxy and do another 3D action title. However we can't make so many games at once in parallel. But as the hardware technology gets better and advances, I think there will be a lot of opportunity for both options." I certainly wouldn't mind.
tbh Sunshine 2 would maybe be a better idea
64 2 or bust
64 2 or bust
Mario 64²
I'd rather have another open-ended 3D Mario game like 64, but I'd still buy a Galaxy 3 because those games are good as fuck.
They could either use Galaxy 3 to be more inventive than even the previous games and try to twist up Mario's traditional platforming in a truly unique way again, or they'll play it safe and not really try to push the envelope since none of the games have really tried after Galaxy 2's mission pack sequel release. Yes, I don't think even 3D World really pushed anything besides a few unique stage types, mostly in the post-game. [sp]now that the Wii U, and presumably the NX, have secondary analog sticks we also hopefully can have better camera control again[/sp]
Galaxy was so slow compared to Sunshine and 64. I understand they're trying to appeal to a wider audience by making the games easy as fuck, but god damn Sunshine was so much more fun than both Galaxies. I enjoyed both Galaxy games but I never went to replay them like I did with Sunshine.
Galaxy was so slow compared to Sunshine and 64.
Since you're dealing with low-gravity levels I understand that the controls would be floaty and slow. Hell, I'd love another Mario game with the physics and jumping mechanics from Sunshine, every jump felt like it had weight and was super responsive. Not to mention it was fast as hell, doing that little trick with FLUDD where you'd spray a small surface and then slide down an entire street. :v:
Eurogamer released quite a bit recently. They also revealed that Miyamoto basically confirmed Pikmin 4 is in the works and is nearing completion. Was gonna make a thread about it but I don't know if I can fully believe it without a more reliable source other than "He said this take our word for it."
I'd rather have Sunshine 2 or 64 2 [editline]7th September 2015[/editline] or 3D World 2
I'd rather have Sunshine 2 or 64 2 [editline]7th September 2015[/editline] or 3D World 2
Or a Mario game with Wario in it that isn't a sports or party game.
I don't think they could pull off another Galaxy game without getting stale. Maybe if they did something like Mario 64 with big interconnected levels, but with a gravity gimmick.

They could probably try another Sunshine in principle - something that takes past experiences from 64, Sunshine, the Galaxy games and 3D Land/World, and then make something new with it all while still being familiar. It's about time Mario pushed out of the comfort zone with not just reusing the same old themes again.
Or a Mario game with Wario in it that isn't a sports or party game.
Super Mario 64 DS has Wario in it
I don't think they could pull off another Galaxy game without getting stale. Maybe if they did something like Mario 64 with big interconnected levels, but with a gravity gimmick.
As far as 3D Mario goes, I wouldn't mind seeing another game like 64 with a proper hub location that branches off into different worlds and special levels. But in terms of a new Mario game in the general term, I'd be all over another MRPG. You know, the RPGs where the turn-based combat is augmented by timing your actions, like Paper Mario, Mario & Luigi, South Park: The Stick of Truth (by its mechanics it's technically an MRPG), those games.
I want to see a new platformer that isn't the same New shit over and over Something unique like the Super Mario Land series or SMB2
I want to see Nintendo's new Level Design philosophy in a more Open ended game like SM64 and Super Mario Sunshine... Kishotenketsu...
I'd like to see a Mario platformer based on time travel with good future/bad future/past mechanics, where the levels are SM64-style and expansive but the stars are spread out between four different versions of each subworld that all have their own unique features, with bad futures of the Mushroom Kingdom looking like Neo Bowser City or World Bowser. Would really allow them to flesh out the Mushroom Kingdom instead of travelling to other lands. Time travel has already existed in a Mario RPG and two Mario world platformers, so why not?
Super Mario 64 DS has Wario in it
A new Mario game with Wario in it, not an old remake.
Time travel has already existed in a Mario RPG and two Mario world platformers, so why not?
Partners in Time?
Partners in Time?
Yeah. [sp]Yoshi's Island DS and Yoshi's New Island both have time travel as part of the plot even though Yoshi himself doesn't participate in that. Certain major Mario franchise characters, however, do.[/sp]
Apparently the next Mario & Luigi RPG, Paper Jam, is going to incorporate elements of Paper Mario.
Ooh! Ooh! I'll do the logo!
Apparently the next Mario & Luigi RPG, Paper Jam, is going to incorporate elements of Paper Mario.
Uh, welcome to three months ago when the trailer explicitly showed the M&L and PM universes interacting?
I would like to have a Mario platform adventure that isn't painfully kiddy.
Galaxy 3 or Sunshine 2 would be awesome.
I would like to have a Mario platform adventure that isn't painfully kiddy.
What Mario games weren't 'kiddy?' And why is that a problem?
I would like to have a Mario platform adventure that isn't painfully kiddy.
I don't really see what you mean. How are they "painfully kiddy"? Galaxy 2 has you essentially murdering a newborn creature in the very beginning of the game, and the final boss has this song. Not exactly "children's music" Aesthetically sure I can kind of see what you mean, but that's just the artstyle 3D Mario has always had. Cartoony or simple artstyles don't instantly make the game kiddy.
Ooh! Ooh! I'll do the logo!
U R MR NVS? [sp]The sparkles on the original SMG logo highlighted the letters U R MR GAY and then the SMG 2 logo had the sparkles moved, but when you read them in reverse they said "YA I AM R U".[/sp]
Or a Mario game with Wario in it that isn't a sports or party game.
Nah. Speaking as someone who's a huge fan of Wario and has played the Wario Land series extensively, it wouldn't fit and they shouldn't do it. His games have their own tone and theme. More Wario Land games? Yeah. But don't dumb down his character by trying to shoehorn him in as a sidekick in a main Mario game. His character goes hand in hand with the gameplay in the Wario Land series in a beautiful way, and it just wouldn't translate.
