• Upgrading my graphics card, could use some help

First off, Hopin this in the right section. Not exactly building a PC, but upgrading my current one. Saw some similar threads here, so I took a shot. My two Geforce 7600s have served me well for about 2 years now. But right now, I really feel like its time to upgrade(ARMA 2 being my main inspiration. Feeling like the fat kid on a track team while moving with your squad aint fun). I've done a bit of research, and I believe the GTX 275 serves my purposes.(I'm pretty set on this, but I'll at least look at further recommendations.). I consider myself pretty computer literate, but when it gets down to all the little acronyms and stuff, I start to get a bit lost. I'm not planning on upgrading any further then the graphics card for the time being (bigger hardrive and possibly more ram would be next on the list). Right now, However, I need to know if the 275 will work with my computer. Power wise, I have 600W on my PSU, and the card requires 550 from what I saw. Is this getting uncomfortably close, or is it ok? Input I'm not entirely sure on. I think my current cards are PCI-E, while the specs on the 275 claims its PCI-E 2.0. Is there a significant functional difference here, and is it not compatible? Past this, I'm really not sure on anything. I put that GPU-Z thing below, if that helps at all. And I can try to provide any other information if needed. Thanks in advance for any help provided. budget? [editline]02:44PM[/editline] also now is a good time to go with ati for gpus
I would recommend the 4890 over the gtx 275 but what are the rest of your specs.
Budget is about $250. I put 2 dxdiag screens in the OP, I'll do my best on anything else that may be needed. I am horribly confused when it comes to ATI stuff, since I've been using Nvidia since I started gaming. I'm familiar with Nvidia, but ATI completely throws me off. It's something I'll consider, but I'm gonna avoid it if possible for the time being.
How does it confuse you?

Another stick of ram and finally a mid range graphics card.

What exactly confuses you about slotting a card into a PCI-Express slot that has the words (for example) 'Sapphire' printed on the casing instead of, say, 'EVGA'?
Maybe I worded that badly. I just don't get the model numbers all that well, is all.

I'm aware that my RAM needs an upgrade, but why the CPU?
