Police are investigating a fake fingers case where silicone thumbs were used to punch-in absent co-workers at an emergency clinic in Brazil. isn't local tv station's logo used as avatar by some facepunch user? recognized it, but can't remember which bastard's was it.
Saw this on mythbusters a while back. If I recall correctly they were also able to do this with a moist paper scan of a fingerprint.
Silocone limbs? What is it with Brazil and body parts? Also it's Glorbo if I recall.
I'm not fake I swear
The news channel is called Globo (globe in portuguese) If i recall correctly, the guy with that avatar is Glorbo, i think he just googled his name and the Globo icon popped up and he put it in his avatar.
Businesses use biometric thumb scanners for everyday purposes Criminals trick them by making synthetic thumbs Guys, we're living in the future.
Aye, tis glorbo [editline]15th March 2013[/editline] Also, this is pretty funny haha An army of ghost workers jacking pay cheques
The scanners were fooled because they were low quality ones, higher end government certified scanners have the ability to detect fake fingers. They use sensors that can detect the presence of a heart beat or determine the resistance of the the skin. The latest greatest scanners have built in infrared cameras that scan the finger's veins in addition to scanning the fingerprint.
not one bit surprised about something like this happening, you all would be surprised about how much corruption there is over here.
