Sad news for ‘Star Trek’ fans. Leonard Nimoy, who played Spock in the classic TV show and movies, is suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The 82-year-old sci-fi legend tweeted to his followers: “I quit smoking 30 yrs ago. Not soon enough. I have COPD. Grandpa says, quit now!! LLAP” As fans will know, LLAP means ‘Live Long And Prosper’ – the classic Vulcan salute. Despite his health problems, has still been busy in recent years, making an appearance in JJ Abrams’ rebooted ‘Star Trek’ and playing Dr. William Bell in science fiction series ‘Fringe’. I just hope he continues to live long and prosper.

I hope he has the force with him
we need to get him soul magnets just incase
Then his consciousness will inevitably end up in an attractive blonde and we'll have FemNimoy.
Shit, DeForest Kelley isn't here to absorb his soul so we can make a new Spock. It's for real this time, guys. D:
Then his consciousness will inevitably end up in an attractive blonde and we'll have FemNimoy.
that or it'll solidify and form evil-spock (nemoy with a fumanchu) NOO NEMOY DON'T DIE, PARAMOUNT STILL OWNS 3-5 MORE CAMIO CARDS!
Man, we just lost The man behind Shredder and Uncle Phil, please not Spock!
I have been... and always shall be... your friend.
I saw "Leonard Nimoy has C..." and nearly pissed myself. At least COPD is manageable and not a completely life altering condition(to an extent). My dad has COPD and had his lungs ravaged by TB many years ago and he's still kicking. He runs out of breath pretty quick, but is otherwise alright. I think Nimoy is gonna live to 90+.
I had to share a hospital room with a guy with severe COPD, it's nasty stuff. Never been a fan of ST but I hope Leonard stays as healthy as he can, man's a legend.
I hope he lives as long as possible rewatching star trek 20 years from now will not be the same without him still being around. Have that, i find it quite heartening.

Age seems to have been a lot kinder to William Shatner.

Shatner has held up well over the years cause he got all the chicks on Star Trek, a healthy sex life works wonders. Nimoy got all the hand action on that show, so it didn't help as much.
No matter what happens, I'll still have the best thing Loenard can give me. Talking about my seamen's growth.
