This is part of the problem some of you have been experiencing with the iFruit App and some Social Club services – we apologize in advance for this and thank you for your patience in this area.
32 people in multiplayer was a false rumor
From launch, up to 16 players can enter the world together
buying game cash rumor was true
You can either quickly accumulate cash through profitable activities like knocking over armored cars, winning street races, doing stick-ups or a host of other cash-making endeavors – or if you’re the completely instant gratification type, you can choose to buy denominations of GTA$. You will have the option to purchase GTA$ through the in-game Store. The game and its economy have been designed and balanced for the vast majority of players who will not buy extra cash. There is no in-game paywall and nothing that should disrupt the balance of the game. You don’t have to spend real money to attain the cars, guns, clothes, flash and style of a high-roller in Los Santos, but can if you wish to get them a little quicker
I am not sure how to feel about this.
Who cares. Dont let this ruin the game for you.
I don't think an optional thing like that is going to disrupt my enjoyment of GTA:O in any way.
This is the new way for developers to rake in dosh. Best get used to it I guess.
Honestly -- if this is what stops them from making paid updates then I'm fine with it I'd rather get everything free while 500 thousand idiots go out and buy fake money with real money ..instead of having to constantly pay 3 or 4 dollars for every gun dlc and car dlc they release.. it's all free
No big deal to me, but then again I never have given much of a shit about GTA:O. It could be a rotten bag of dicks and I wouldn't even notice.
Depends on how they implement it. Usually a "micro"transaction store is accompanied by a painful grind if you don't pay. They may not hold features from you, but they'll damn well make it a chore to get anything if you don't pay. Whether or not they do this remains to be seen but I have zero hopes considering the history of games with these fucking things.
Like playing the game???
Who cares. Dont let this ruin the game for you.
Don't even try. Just watch.
If it doesnt make people that pay $ unkillable monsters that can do whatever as opposed to normal people that dont, then it doesnt really matter. People that bitch just dont seem to grasp it's optional. If it's like TF2, where I have never bought a single thing from the store, and it still doesnt matter. it doesnt matter.

I don't think they'd make it painfully grindy to get ingame cash. I'm thinking the same level as in the single-player part perhaps?
Like playing the game???
Like spending weeks to get a single item that isn't a cheap disposable piece of garbage.
Couldn't people start off really powerful by buying the best guns and vehicles?
Still, it's Rockstar we're talking about. I don't think they'd make it painfully grindy to get ingame cash. I'm thinking the same level as in the single-player part perhaps?
Yeah it just sounds like the paid stuff is just to skip all the shit you have to do to get straight up disposable income.
Considering how Grand Theft Auto V works to begin with, do you people really think they'd tear the game up just to make people pay more dosh through godawful grinding systems? Yeah, MP3's grind was terrible, and those at higher levels just have a distinct advantage over those at lower levels, but I don't think they'd do that with GTA.
Like spending weeks to get a single item that isn't a cheap disposable piece of garbage.
But even if there wasn't micro transactions, it's not like it'd be piss easy to get cool stuff.
Meh, I'm not gonna care about the microtransactions. I'll just rack up money by heists and hopefully there isn't much of a wait limit on when you can do that again. It's much more fun earning it really, and that's what those people that buy dosh are going to miss.
Jesus Christ, the shortened full-caps title in the main page scared me shitless - I thought something massive had happened.
Still, it's Rockstar we're talking about. I don't think they'd make it painfully grindy to get ingame cash. I'm thinking the same level as in the single-player part perhaps?
Yeah, if anyone made this decision it'd be the higher ups at rockstar, not rockstar north (lead developers on the game) so if anything the gameplay aspects should be entirely unchanged except with the occasional random dumbass that bought fake money
if you don't want to play with people that buy their stuff then don't. you can choose who you play with
fucking stupid don't give a fuck if it's just optional, the option shouldn't be there in the first place since i, like many others, bought the fucking game. will most likely still enjoy the game but fuck, this is stupid
This is annoying Thanks to this, the PC version will most likely have some dumb anti-cheat in place, to prevent people just giving themselves money And that will basically kill modding
Still, it's Rockstar we're talking about. I don't think they'd make it painfully grindy to get ingame cash. I'm thinking the same level as in the single-player part perhaps?
And yet just yesterday we had people saying "they won't put in micro transactions, this is rockstar we are talking about"
Honestly -- if this is what stops them from making paid updates then I'm fine with it
Given they're on track to hit $1.5 billion in sales in the first couple weeks of release, I don't think there would be any valid excuse for paid updates if they were to do that. Even the microtransactions are a stretch, though hopefully a harmless one.
"boo hoo other people want to play the game differently than i do even though you rack up cash 10x faster in multiplayer than singleplayer anyway"
Yeah it does sound pretty stupid when you simplify it to something as moronic as that
that was the point because people who are actually mad about this are hella dumb
As I said in the other thread, this seems no worse than the fact that you can buy cars in Forza with real money if you don't want to bother playing properly. I for one look forward to and will enjoy earning money in a (not so) legitimate fashion and not through buying it. As for the 16 players, "from launch" makes me think what I posted in another thread about it possibly increasing as they test the stability might (hopefully) be true.
There is no in-game paywall and nothing that should disrupt the balance of the game. You don’t have to spend real money to attain the cars, guns, clothes, flash and style of a high-roller in Los Santos, but can if you wish to get them a little quicker. The economy is balanced differently from the single player economy, and cash earned in one cannot be taken over to the other. Most players will earn cash much faster Online than in Story Mode.
wow omg game ruined wrst evr -10/10 r* kil urself Or, you know, that's really reasonable and the whiny nerd brigade has once again jumped the gun
To be honest I'm more disappointed by the 16 players limit, which was to be expected anyway.
