• 8350 - Switching to Intel?

Hey again, Recently I've been debating the pros and cons of remaining in the AMD camp - I've only ever bought AMD chipsets, and for the most part they've been pretty good. I recently dropped in an 8350 and booted up Planetside 2, which is apparently a very single-thread intensive game. The results weren't the greatest, but weren't the worst, at roughly 50 frames per second running at ultra in my preferred 800p window. In the future, I'm looking forward to playing games like The Crew and The Division, but I am a little concerned about how viable my 8350 is for them. I'm not really looking for anyone to explain the differences, since I know there are many, but I was hoping someone could point me to a comparable or better chipset and compatible motherboard, in case I wanted to switch over. Ideally it should be future-proof enough for the next year or two while also not blowing a hole in the bank, which is one of the main reasons I have yet to switch to Intel.
I had a pcpp build that was an FX-9590 and ASROCK 990extreme 9. I swapped it for an i5-4690k and ASUS Z97pro wifi mobo and it came out to the same price that day. They both have four physical and four logical cores, and the i5 can be OC'd to the same clock speed as the 9590 (4.7ghz) so it should be quite fine.

Thanks for the recommendations, they look pretty solid. Unfortunately I'm a little shorter on cash than I originally thought, but I'll keep this in mind when I go shopping next.

An overclocked Core i processor would absolutely demolish any AMD-FX cpu at the same clockspeed wile drawing considerably less power.
Micro atx?
Realistically speaking only a small amount of people would actually fully benefit from a full ATX motherboard. mATX is definitely more ideal in this situation especially if paired with an mATX case. I see no issue with it being recommend.
