Currently I have: Mobo: Abit IP35 Pro Processor: Intel Q6600 Ram: 3gb 800mhz GPU: Asus GeForce GTX 285 1024MB GDDR3 HDD: 500gb (Not sure of the rest) Case: Antec 900 PSU: Cooler Master Real Power M1000 RS-A00-ESBA My budget is around £600-700
There's nothing wrong with that computer.
Get another stick of ram.
-snip- give me a minute [editline]04:38PM[/editline] WD1001FALS and OCZ2G8008GQ buy them
Actually fuck it, burn it all and buy a new PC, just because you can. [editline]01:39AM[/editline] Or, build a second PC.
There's nothing wrong with that computer.
I know it's not horribly out of date but it couldn't hurt to bring the RAM up and get a new HDD while I actually have some money.
With that much money and you really want to upgrade it, just throw a P55 mobo and a Core i7 750 and 4GB of DDR3 in it.
Give me that computer it's horrid, you might as well build a second pc in place of it. Seriously though, there is nothing wrong with that computer unless you want a bigger hard drive or more ram, or if you didnt care get another motherboard if that one doesn't support SLI and get a second gtx 285

Yeah, I don't really need SLI for now as there still aren't that many games that use it to it's full potential. What Buttsex said looks pretty good actually as long as he's 100% sure that RAM will work in my current motherboard?
RAM: http://overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-039-KS HDD: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-246-WD
green drive? no [editline]05:50PM[/editline] http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-226-WD&groupid=701&catid=14&subcat=1279 SSD might be a good idea too
What's wrong with Green drives?
What's wrong with Green drives?
There is nothing wrong with them... They work perfectly fine... Just make sure they have 32MB Cache... [editline]07:57PM[/editline] Just noticed they have 32mb cache..... There is nothing wrong with them.....
Buy a Massive Dual Screen setup like 2 Hannsg 27" monitors or soemthing crazy like that,
Donate some money to me and then buy a couple of new monitors  Or...just buy a couple of 1tb hard drives, some ram and other things. You really don't need a big upgrade.
Right, I've brought the Ram and HDD upgrade Adzicents recommended and I'm going to get a new monitor tomorrow.
Right, I've brought the Ram and HDD upgrade Adzicents recommended and I'm going to get a new monitor tomorrow.
I hope they bring your computer years of happiness.
Until the next time my baby cousin decides it'll be fun to pour his drink all over my internals :bang:
As long as the green drives aren't 5400 rpm, they're fine.
What's wrong with Green drives?
They spin slower to use less energy. If you don't have 32-bit OS then get another stick of RAM and if you have money to blow get the i5.
