"I've had a wonderful journey at EA and Maxis, filled with amazingly creative people, unforgettable experiences and an inspiring community of players and creators. I have the highest regard for EA's leadership today, their vision and their focus on putting players first.

EA

focus on putting players first.
:pudge:
I didn't even know this person existed. Lucy Bradshaw was one of the names I was considering legally changing to at one point LOL.
So no sims5.... I was really hoping sims 4 would be open world like sims 3, and that they would get rid of rabbit holes. ESP. When I bought the sims 4 get to work expansion pack... I wanted to see my sim be an astronaut but I guess that's gonna be a whole different expansion pack on its own (I hope) I mean I'm perfectly fine with the reduced customization with sims 4, and I like how its cartoony. But they could have atleast made it an open world.

They stylized the textures in a way that you don't need super high resolution textures to look good in, then they they completely gutted the open world aspect of the game in its entirety which leaves you with a ton of load times. To be honest they should have had it so you load "districts" at a time in the game instead of the entire world if they were that worried about it. Load in and have 5-10 lots depending on size that you can wonder about to or visit your neighbor without a loading screen. I'm still hoping they do something to reduce the number of loading screens with a patch or expansion, but the newest one they've teased looks like it's gonna be garbage.
:pudge:
Who else could they milk?
I like The Sims but it got to the point where I have little to no interest on it because of how they ran it to the ground.
I used to love playing The Sims - I remember summer days where my siblings and I would just get together and play the game all day - but it really reached its climax with The Sims 3 in my opinion. The series' history of game-corrupting errors, shitty developers, overpriced expansion packs, and the dead end that EA reached with the release of The Sims 4 just put the entire series to bed for me. Its original spirit has been hollowed out to the point where it's hard to extract any enjoyment anymore. I would love to see something similar to how Cities: Skylines replaced the SimCity series. Retain the same loose concept, but have the game totally separate from The Sims otherwise. New developers that don't milk the series dry, new engine, official modding support, additions that don't cost anything... it would be a dream come true.
They could easily cash in and make a The Sims 1: HD, and I would probably play the fuck out of it.
They could easily cash in and make a The Sims 1: HD, and I would probably play the fuck out of it.
I'd rather them just re-release the first Sims game with all of it's expansions on GOG.
I remember getting the Sims Making Magic with the Sims 2 teaser disk. Lucy Bradshaw was featured, talking about how excited she was for all the new features in the new Sims and how they encountered all sorts of weird goofs in development. I highly doubt we can blame her as a bad guy in all of this.
tbh I think the sims has lost its ability to last any longer than it already has someone else needs to take the throne. Unless they respark its former self and create something that's "True to format", I feel like it should pass. I really regret buying the sims 4 get to work expansion pack. I feel like they should make expansion packs $5-8 dollars a piece or offer some sort of package.
