I bet this has been asked everywhere but can someone recommend a simple video converter for me? It has to be able to convert avi/mp4 to wav. I used to have a really good program but I forgot to move it when I re-installed windows and now I can't remember the damn name of it.
It has 4 letters in it I think and begins with a W.
I know this is extremely vague but if anyone knows what I'm talking about please give me some insight. Cheers.
I'm not sure of the one you are talking about, but have you looked at Handbreak?
To avoid confusions, it's actually Handbrake
I use the free version of AOA Audio Extractor.
The only noticeable limitation is you can only convert 3 files at a time, but I don't think that should be much of a problem, just remove the files from the list, add 3 new ones and start again.

I just checked and it isn't.
looks pretty decent though, guess I'll be using this.
Does this even convert to wmv?

Uhmm... http://handbrake.fr/
Uh yeah I've been on the website, what are you trying to show me?

Looking around says Handbrake CANNOT convert to .wmv but it works the other way around.
Why do you even need .wmv anyways?!
I use Sony Vegas to render something into .wmv.
The size/quality ratio is so good.
Not exactly the most user friendly but it's certainly flexible.

and you'll need an ffmpeg binary to go with it

I use freemake for anything that handbrake can't convert ( http://www.freemake.com/free_video_converter/ )
Simple and supports CUDA for encoding

Actually yeah I may as well use sony vegas. Gonna be using it for videos anyway.
And I need because I record scenes from movies and shit that I get from youtube and make sfm videos of them.
