Tony Abbott: Lesbian couples can apply for paid parental leave but not Gay Men
He may be opposed to same-sex marriage, but Tony Abbott has no problem with a lesbian couple benefiting from his paid parental leave scheme.
On Melbourne radio, Mr Abbott was confronted by a caller horrified a lesbian couple he knew both wanted to have children at the same time and both wanted to access government-funded parental leave.
David from St Kilda said the women each earned $150,000 a year, so under the coalition's proposed scheme each could be entitled to the maximum $75,000 payout for six months leave.
Asked if this was true, Mr Abbott said: "If they both have kids, fine".
"They're both having kids, and they're both earning the relevant wage," he told ABC radio.
"They should get their relevant wage for paid parental leave just like they get relevant wage for long service leave, for holiday pay, for sick leave, etcetera.
All he's saying is that pregnant people can have maternal leave.

Seriously sensationalist title. Didn't even say shit in the article about that.

He basically didn't say "Same-Sex couples" he said Women and I know Men can't get pregnant but if they have an adopted baby or they used that scheme when you have a Woman who has the sperm from one of the couples and they get the baby they can't apply for it.
lesbians are hot so its ok i think

Rosie O'Donnell.
Rosie O'Donnell.
no ew gross dude
That title doesn't really take what he said into context, he was asked specifically if a pregnant couple were able to take paid parental leave. If he was asked if a gay/lesbian couple had adopted a child and were asking to take some sort of paid parental leave than I believe the title would be more relevant.
Also Abbott is a repressed closet gay.
Ninemsn has a strong opposition to Tony and the Murdoch owned websites would praise him for this, its unclear but everyone knows Tony probably isn't against Lesbians seeing as his daughter is gay

The way he worded it I think. Notice the - if both are having kids. It's implying he's not seeing them directly as a couple who have one kid, but two people in a couple relationship who both have their seperate kids.
Seems like he requires both members of the couple to have their own kids first.

Honestly I'm sick of both Abbott and Rudd, I want them both to piss off. This is why I'm voting Clive Palmer, dude's building a mother fucking robotic Jurassic Park.
