NEWSER -- On his birthday this year, Kim Jong Un reportedly gave every child in North Korea candy, according to CNBC. So what did he get his top officials? Copies of Hitler's Mein Kampf, the Washington Post reports.
The gift was part of a larger effort by Kim to encourage military leaders to study Germany's post-WWI reconstruction, and follow rumors that Kim carefully studied Hitler while attending school in Switzerland.
Well Germany did do quite well after WW-I under Hitler.
They actually won territories back for one.
by stealing jewish peoples' goods and services, as well as getting nationalist support to silence dissent, and make everyone work for the common good of the fuhrer, yeah, great leader who wouldn't have completely gone into financial hell after the war (provided they didn't lose)
I hope you realise this all is straight up North Korea's alley
For the time beeing it was "good" but after WW2 it was even worse then before for Germany

Still, they did really well nix all the human rights violations.

isn't mein kampf really just more hitler's spergy thesis about how the jews are plotting world domination and not really any kind of detailing of why germany was able to reconstruct itself
sorry about taking kim jong un in

no it really didn't. it seemed good because hitler created a giant war economy very quickly, and helped fund it through stealing from the jewish banks.
a war economy will not last. a military industrial complex will eventually fail.

He also benefited a lot from clever "slow-burning" laws put in place before he seized power. I don't think Korea can build on that.

Yep, it was basically a huge "all-in" for WW2. He planned on paying off the mountain of debt with conquered goods.
well good thing then that juche doesn't call for destruction of entire ethnic groups then?

They were pretty much on the brink of an economic collapse during the whole war. Which is one of the reasons they had to be as aggressive as they were. And a lot of their early gains were partially from Poland, Czechoslovakia and to some extent France which gave them a much better buffer.
Then we paid to rebuild them. Now they have the second most robust economy In the world.

No it wasn't it was entirely based on debt that was never going to be repaid or even with any interest, all the major industry leaders backed Adolf and he promised them whatever they wanted.

To be honest, they did pick up massive amounts of technological know how during the war which was also one of the things which helped them immensely. But foreign cash really was a huge deal. There's still massive differences between former DDR and BRD territories.

Why would the NSA care about neo-nazis? They are not really a threat to the state in general, just the current one.
Why would the NSA care about neo-nazis? It wouldn't be unprecedented.

Really? I thought they only cared about anti-war protesters and libertarians/anarchists.
Really? I thought they only cared about anti-war protesters and libertarians/anarchists.
Yeah, FBI checked out a lot of different groups. Plenty were anti-war groups and such, but Nationalists were also in there.
