[release]Yesterday, Brett Ratner resigned as the producer of the 84th Academy Awards after he made homophobic remarks to the surprise of no one. Now host Eddie Murphy has followed his Tower Heist director’s lead and exited the awards ceremony. Academy president Tom Sherak released a statement about Murphy’s departure, saying: ” I appreciate how Eddie feels about losing his creative partner, Brett Ratner, and we all wish him well.”
The Academy usually hires its producer and host well in advance in order to build buzz and provide plenty of lead time on the ceremony. Now there will be a bit of a scramble to bring on a new producer and host with only three months to go until the 84th Academy Awards. Maybe this time the Academy will hire a producer who is unlikely to say something like “Rehearsal is for fags.”

Give it to Jon Stewart again
Or Ellen
They oughta get Ricky Gervais to step in.
EDIT:
OK I retract my statement NPH should do it, he's awesome and guy and likes to wear suits!!!
Good news, The Oscars would have been a disaster with this producer/host combo. Now they can be a disaster under a different producer/host.

you took my joke you evil soda company
Jon Stewart GOOOO!!
I think we should give it to Anne Hathaway and James Franco.
They were hands down the best hosts of any Oscar.

Actually fuck, they should just host everything.
[editline]9th November 2011[/editline]
because they were so good of course
I find it awkward I don't care or follow on any of these people, even though I know who they are (Well not Franco, too lazy to google his pic anyways).

So, Eddie Murphy?
Have NPH host.
They need to get Simon Pegg to do it. I'd actually watch the Oscars for Simon Pegg.
Someone said NPH, which would actually be awesome. I wouldn't mind Hugh Jackson again either.
why is that a picture of Will Smith
+1 for Neil Patrick Harris!
Neil Patrick Harris should host for two reasons.
1: He played Greatest Batman Villain of all time, The Music Meister!

2: He is so attractive, he makes straight men go gay, and lesbian women go straight.

Lets just drag Betty White in and see how she manages.
Eddie Murphy out, Bill Crystal (for the 9th time) in.
