Nice. I wonder how many games will detect these as macro usage :~)
Nice. I wonder how many games will detect these as macro usage :~)
there's games that block macro usage?
That's a very nice update actually. Going to add a lot more power to the controller.
there's games that block macro usage?
On a code level, all they would have to do is check how frequently the button is pressed within a specific time span. Figure out what that rate is, and it can be circumvented. It being useful at the circumvented rate is an entirely different thing.
Damn, no half-presses, now how am I going to enter parallel universes?
This broke the menu keys and bumpers in Witcher 3 :s
Damn, no half-presses, now how am I going to enter parallel universes?
actually, there are activators to only press (and hold) a key, and activators to only release a key so theoretically you can configure your controller to half-press.
From the main page preview the shortened version said "Customize every butt...":dogwow:

figured out how it works, this shit is pretty interesting :v:
Less obvious uses I can think of 4 menu's 2 buttons, or even 6. On select and start, you can use double press, long press and regular press for 6 menu options touch menu's, assuming activators work with them, could have an alternative bind on a button. trackpad with 16 buttons now has 2x the buttons. Mode shift that? 4x. Use holds as well? 6x the buttons. Not sure if this works in practice, but in theory it would work. I gotta try this though. If you were in a game with many abilities you could have a touch menu with clicks set to basic attacks, doubles for complex/major attacks and maybe holds for support/heals. D-pad bindings. Click to change item, double to change weapons. this lets you have a 10 way joystick d-pad. Hold to aim, release to shoot + reload. Perfect for guns that have hyper-low ammo or a single shot. Or alternatively, HL2's grav gun. a not shitty screenshot button. Hold X to take one.
Touch menu doesn't work with activators However the activators add so much functionality
Touch menu doesn't work with activators However the activators add so much functionality
fair enough. Real bummer though, it'd really change a lot. but for the ABXY it can turn it into 8 buttons. So that's really nice.
Have you tried using a shift mode to get two touch menus on the one pad? I'm not sure if it works but it gives you a wide choice of options
