My internet connection is fine i restarted my router a few times and it still doesnt seem to work this started yesterday. I deleted the ClientRegistry.blob and then i start steam up and then it says "Updating steam platform" and after that it give me the same error message.
Backup your steam folder and reinstall steam. If it works then copy over all the gcf's you NEED. I believe some of the ones that help run steam have gotten corrupted.

Please god no not just the gcfs if you only copy the gcfs you'll only have the content for the valve games.
Keep the whole steamapps folder.
Gcfs don't run steam the files in the root of steam do it's all the dlls that could be messed.
I suggest you remove all the non folders in the root of steam keeping steam.exe then run the exe.
The problem is solved, he has contacted me on steam.
Yeah today I re-installed steam and Its WORKING!!!! YEAH!!!! Anyway, I am gonna download tf2 since it is free to play. See you guys on steam!
