Hello, I got pretty new HP pavilion 15 inches. Had problem with it, when my gf one morning dropped my guitar on it. My screen cracked. I send it to PCworld back and they fixed it. Before all this problem I was watching movies thru HDMI cable to my TV because screen is larger and I can see all picture from bed. Now after PCWorld HDMI port doesnt work. Tv says that its plugged, but Laptop doesnt. Anyone got Idea? Tested MY tv with brothers laptop worked Borthers laptop with his Tv worked. My laptop with his, and mine Tv - no. Its definetely problem in latpop.
Try hitting windows+p a few times while it's plugged in and see if anything comes up

They probably purposefully broke it so you could take it back for them to fix. All it takes is cutting off one pin, then they can resolder it when you take it back and charge you 400 bucks
If it's integrated graphics try right clicking on the desktop and going to Intel properties. Some of those settings might help. I don't remember what's there since I don't have any devices running integrated

If I were you I'd contact a repair center close to you that has good reviews/reputation and have them look at it, I remember years ago when my laptop broke down (faulty screen I think) PCWorlds prices were just pure extortionate, they wanted to charge just to look at it even if it meant they could or could not fix it and I walked out because I knew that they were just a pile of cowboys. So instead of them sabotaging your laptop, I reckon it was just down to incompetence and they damaged something else in the process, but definitely seek another company to fix it for you. Also I just cannot fathom how they could damage the HDMI port in the first place, they wouldn't even need to go into the lower section as most laptops are designed in a way that you can just take the bezel plastics off the screen, unscrew the LCD, detach the cables, take off the surrounding LCD mounts, attach to the new LCD and put it all back together, I could be wrong though but every laptop I have seen, it's always the same.

Same thing goes for some mechanics. Theyll set up something to fail just so you come back to them in the future.
did you try reinstalling your video drivers?
Thats actually not a bad idea, but in any case, windows has fallback drivers.
