• Ex Apprentice contestant judges people based on the names.
Former Apprentice contestant Katie Hopkins has caused outrage with an appearance on ITV’s This Morning by claiming that she “didn’t like” children with "lower class” names such as Charmaine, Chantelle, Chardonnay and Tyler and that she would prevent her own offspring from playing with them. “A name, for me, is a short way of working out what class that child comes from,” Hopkins said. “[And I can decide from that] do I want my child to play with them?” This Morning presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield challenged her opinions, with the former asking why Hopkins wouldn’t want her children to play with “lower class” kids. “It's not just class...There’s a whole set of things that go with children like that. They are quite a disruptive influence at school. That’s why I don’t like those sort of children,” Hopkins said, adding that such kids probably didn’t do their homework and were unlikely to have “good prospects”. She probably thinks nobody would complain as obviously these 'people' cannot read or write. Generalisations, ahoy!
I thought we lived in a society which allowed people to believe what they like and live how they like... Why the double standard? There's a massive outcry at this woman, who essentially believe in something which is relatively harmless, yet people are allowed to believe in 'Gods' which ultimately makes them far more bigoted towards lots of people... in some cases dangerously so. Yeah she's dumb and bigoted, but this is a symptom of a larger problem.
That's not news.
yet people are allowed to believe in 'Gods' which ultimately makes them far more bigoted towards lots of people... in some cases dangerously so.
...How is that relevant to the article at all?

The obvious one: How the fuck can she tell, just by a name what a person is going to be like. It may have some bearing on the type of family that they were born into, but it has no relevance as to what person they are. 2. How the hell can someone be so ridiculously pretentious that they don't allow their children to hang out with other children. Ever. My parents were pretty tight on who they thought were good influences, but I was still allowed to hang out with Cj's, Aj's, Jay's, Willy's, and Dillan the obvious drug dealer. They cared but there weren't so ridiculous as to tell me that I couldn't talk to them. and 3. How the fuck is she able on television with ideals like that, telling other people how to live like a bigot, just like her? What she is doing isn't intelligent, funny, enlightening or anything that could be even potentially constructive. She is a bigot with bigoted ideals telling other, less famous bigots that it's okay to be that way because she is and she got on TV!.
"TYLER COME HERE" lol
...How is that relevant to the article at all?
The woman's not going around murdering kids called 'Tyler'. She's simply stopping her kids from playing with them... big deal. I'd guess that a large number of religious parents stop their kids from playing with kids that are aren't religious. I'd also guess that a large number of parents stop their kids playing with kids who are homosexual, or of a different race. This woman's being targeted because she 'put it out there' and she's also a lone woman with a highly transparent belief, yet if you look a bit harder, these issues are huge and deeply embedded throughout society. This isn't an isolated incident.

WHAT IN THE FUCK. she has a daughter called Budweiser McKinney can we please just take one moment... just please....
What an utter cunt
WHAT IN THE FUCK. she has a daughter called Budweiser McKinney can we please just take one moment... just please....
everyone knows budlight is better
So out of curiosity, how many people do you know who judge people by their name?
None, but a name is really just a label... People who believe in God might also bear the label 'Christian' or someone who doesn't might bear the label 'Atheist' which people are opposed to. I'm not arguing that this woman isn't dumb and bigoted, she is. But, this is merely a symptom of a society that allows such things to thrive.
Ah, British classism showing its ugly head again. [editline]5th July 2013[/editline]
WHAT IN THE FUCK. she has a daughter called Budweiser McKinney can we please just take one moment... just please....
Shes perfectly fine calling her own children Poppy or India, but has a problem with other people doing it or naming their kids after wine.
Does she really believe her own shit? Wow.
The next guest was an ex masterchef contestant who judges the pedigree of dogs by tasting their shit
everyone knows budlight is better
that's like comparing dog piss and camel piss one might be better but fuck me if i want to have either
The next guest was an ex masterchef contestant who judges the pedigree of dogs by tasting their shit
Knowing dog breeders I wouldn't be surprised
I just can't get over the fact that she is adamant that she dislikes names which are taken from geographical locations but has a kid called India. It's like she has just completely refused to think through any of her argument.
I've never wanted to punch a person in the head so badly.
So out of curiosity, how many people do you know who judge people by their name?
Real names I don't care about, you don't choose them (mostly), and judging people based on something they can't choose is just wrong, in every sense. If you choose a dumb nickname though that's your own fault. Random caps and numbers etc.

She's still a judgemental bitch, but she's not wrong about people's names telling you certain things about them; especially when you consider that when you're a child you're basically run by your parents anyway.
I have prejudices against people with certain names too v:v:v Not to the point where I'd actually treat anyone with that kind of name differently or not let my kids play with them or whatever, but if you ask me to name a dumb-person-name or a stupid-ass-hick name, I have certain ones I'd go to.
Well, someone's name tells you about their parents, and someone's parents are a good indication of the background from which someone comes.
People aren't defined by their backgrounds. You can have people from poorer backgrounds who are wonderfully friendly, and people who are complete cunts. Same for rich, middle class, black, white, guy, girl, etc etc.
How the hell is Chardonnay a lower class name? Isn't Chardonnay an expensive type of champagne?
YEAH because class systems worked so well back when they were around...
How the hell is Chardonnay a lower class name? Isn't Chardonnay an expensive type of champagne?
Rather trashy to name your kid after a food or drink.
What a vapid, snooty, bigoted, hypocritical bitch.
I thought we lived in a society which allowed people to believe what they like and live how they like... The dumb bitch up there cannot be arrested or charged with breaking any laws by saying what she's saying, or for believing/thinking it. She's well within her rights to have and express bigoted views as far as the courts are concerned. But that doesn't mean she's free from anyone taking actions against her. Her boss would be well within their right to can her ass effective yesterday, as someone like that would put a negative light on the company as a whole. Her friends are well within their rights to call her a dumb bitch and never speak to or hang out with her again, as most people don't enjoy being around people like that. Indeed it is our right to call her a vapid, snooty, bigoted bitch because of that as well...and we are definitely doing so. She's a vapid, snooty, bigoted bitch. Oh, and she's also a massive hypocrite.
