The facial expressions are disappointing...still haven't seen anybody beat Valve's yet.
looks fucking awesome
I'm disappointed to be honest. This game was supposed to be the revolutionary Dx10 game. Sad thing is it has taken years longer, the facial animations in general are pretty stiff (the lip-syncing is spot on but the rest of the face just looks like a plastic model). The textures are also lacking in my opinion.
As well as the PC version being shelved indefinitely.
I do think the lighting is going in the right direction except that the darkness isn't too dark. The flashlight doesn't actually aid in seeing much, which I would think would make the game a lot scarier.

Agreed. For example, Silent Hill did this nearly spot on. In a lot of places the Flashlight is the ONLY thing you have to help you navigate. Even when I turned it off intentionally i had this feeling of dread even in silent, pitch black darkness like "You better turn that damn thing back ON DUDE."
Still like the excerpt said, they're still ironing out the kinks before release so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt until I've actually played the game. But it's nice to see how far it's come, I remember seeing the early engine previews back when it was first announced and it's definitely more polished than before.
It's been a while since I've played a hardcore story-drive title, so I'm really looking forward to this one.
hey alan
Even if PC version will come I think It's gonna be another badly Console port + horrible performance. Like Ghostbusters.
